Black Friday is a prime chance to tick off some Christmas gifts, or maybe even treat yourself to some new gaming gear.

We’ll be sharing all the best Black Friday deals as soon as they drop, with many offers expected to appear way ahead of the official sales date.

This year, the sale officially kicks off on November 28, 2025.

What Nintendo Switch deals to expect in the Black Friday sale?

If you’re crossing your fingers for a massive price drop on consoles, it’s best to manage expectations, as past sales have only offered minor discounts.

You’ll tend to find better-value games and accessories rather than huge discounts on the console itself, which can be a great thing if you already own a device and want to beef up your gaming library.

Shoppers can expect to find deals on selected Nintendo Switch consoles, games, accessories, and, of course, bundles.

Remember, it’s also worth checking out Black Friday deals from retailers like Amazon, Very, and Argos, as well as the Nintendo Store.

Will the Switch 2 go on sale this Black Friday?

It’s unlikely the Nintendo Switch 2 console itself will see any major discounts this Black Friday, as it was released earlier this year and remains one of the most sought-after consoles on the market.

However, bundles, accessories, and games are likely to be on sale at several Nintendo Switch stockists.

We’re also predicting plenty of exciting price drops on previous-generation consoles, such as the Nintendo Switch OLED, the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the original console.

Should I buy Switch OLED or Switch 2?

Not sure whether to invest in a Nintendo Switch OLED or the Switch 2?

Our tech team has put both models through their paces.

If you’ve got your eye on Nintendo’s latest gaming console, you’ll want to head over to our Nintendo Switch 2 review.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was released in June 2025 and quickly became the company’s fastest-selling debut ever, and it’s clear to see why.

You can bring games to life with a larger screen, enjoy new Joy-Con 2 controllers, and experience new, exclusive games like Mario Kart World.

In his Nintendo Switch 2 review, our Assistant Technology and Science Editor Jamie Harris said: ‘’The Joy-Cons are arguably the biggest hardware upgrade. Gone are those fiddly slide-in controllers, and now it’s all magnetic.

‘’They snap into place with ease and come off simply by pressing a button on the back. What’s more, your old Joy-Cons from the first Switch need not gather dust in a draw.

‘’You can connect these too for when you’re playing in groups, as I did with Mario Kart World when I had friends over.”

For those considering the OLED model, check out our Nintendo Switch OLED review.

Released in October 2021, it’s the third core version of Nintendo’s console, and according to our tech writer, it’s ‘’must-buy for the Switch-less.”

It features a vibrant OLED display, a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, and 64 GB of internal storage.

In their Nintendo Switch OLED review, our writer wrote: ‘’Personally, I’d want to upgrade. Having experienced the difference between LCD and OLED in handheld gaming with the PS Vita, I know I prefer an OLED panel.

‘’Plus, the refined design looks super slick. However, if you’re specifically looking to buy a Nintendo Switch console, it’s a no-brainer.”

What deals were there last year?

Nintendo Switch consoles: standard, lite, and OLED models.
Nintendo’s consoles are popular, whatever your gaming level

In 2024, we spotted plenty of amazing deals on Nintendo devices and games.

Some of the best value offers were on bundles, with Currys selling the Nintendo Switch with 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online access for £249.

While John Lewis slashed the price of the Lite model to £189.99.

But the best deals were on games rather than consoles, with Amazon offering savings between 20-30%.

Will Nintendo Switch deals be included in the Cyber Monday 2025 sale?

This year, Cyber Monday falls on December 1.

Deals that start on Black Friday generally continue across the weekend and into Cyber Monday, though some retailers do hold back discounts, especially for that day.

Cyber Monday used to mark the last day of the sales extravaganza, but in recent years, many retailers have continued their offers into December, which is great for Christmas gifting.

Originally, Cyber Monday bargains were online only, but now you’ll find offers in-store too, giving you an extra opportunity to bag a bargain.

Nintendo has taken part in Cyber Monday sales in the past, so we’re hoping that the brand follows a similar sales schedule this time around.

What’s the difference between the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite?

The standard Nintendo Switch can be used at home with your TV or on the go as a portable console, whereas the Nintendo Switch Lite is solely a handheld console.

As its name suggests, the Lite is a bit lighter and has a slightly smaller screen and battery capacity.

The Lite model will play any regular Switch game, as long as it supports Handheld Mode.

Our gaming experts have broken down the key differences between the Nintendo Switch consoles for those who want to learn more.

Is the Nintendo Switch worth buying?

The Nintendo Switch is an excellent piece of tech, and one that enjoys a glittering reputation on the market, but whether it’s worth buying depends on the sort of gaming you are planning on doing.

Given its hybrid portability, the Switch is aimed at children, families, and commuters.

However, it has plenty of appeal for traditional gamers too, thanks to Nintendo’s stable of exclusive game series, including Mario and Pokémon.
