MAFS UK fans have blasted the show’s experts for ‘gunning’ for groom Ashley Dommett during his marriage woes with Grace Law.
The couple’s issues played out again in the latest episode of the E4 dating show, following on from the fallout over a compliment Ash made to feminist Grace that fell foul in the bedroom earlier in the week.
But as scenes of the latest dinner party aired on Wednesday night, fans took aim at the experts on social media, who claim the experts are constantly taking her side.
The pair entered the dinner party separately, with the 31-year-old midwife appearing first, as she explained their spat to other members of the group before Ash arrived.
And the fallout continued as the couple sat down at the table further into the episode.
Watching the drama unfold behind the scenes, expert Charlene Douglas said: “I think the point that Grace has been making is that she just wanted an apology.
“And I think that if Ashley was able to take some kind of recognition for the hurt that he caused her, I think that would have gone a long way in terms of where they are now.”
The other experts also agreed, angering fans who felt they were ‘gunning’ for Ash while constantly taking Grace’s side.
On X, one viewer wrote: “I really dislike the experts gunning for Ash.“
Another said: “the expert are always taking grace’s side and I can’t stand itttttt”
While one chimed: “Get these “experts” off my TV as well because what BS is this???
“How are they constantly taking her side? Compliment didn’t land because she is a miserable person!!! What a kill joy”.
Viewers even began to question whether Grace had ulterior motives in briefing the group on their troubles.
One wrote: “Here we go, Grace is trying to turn EVERYONE against Ashley all because April picked him in a hypothetical question”.
It follows a disagreement aired on Tuesday night’s episode, where Grace took issue to a compliment Ash made in the bedroom, which made her feel “unsettled”.
She said: “It’s more of the same jokes. I don’t like it.”
A baffled Ash responded: “It was a compliment. Do you ever step back and think, ‘Maybe, I’ve got that wrong?’
“I feel like I am really, really working hard at changing how I say things, but the only thing I’ve asked you to change is to see me for who I am.”
Grace interrupted to say: “I can’t do this. We’re just going round the houses as we always do.”
Ashley later said in a confessional: “This girl is never going to see me for who I am and if you never see me for who I am, what am I doing here?”
Leaving for the couple swap, he told her: “I’m upset because I feel like I’ve done everything I possibly can to change your mind on the way you see me. I’ve just had a realisation that I don’t think it’s going to change.”
Speaking to the cameras, Grace then said: ‘”He doesn’t take accountability. We clearly need some time apart because I am getting sick of it now.’”
