DANNY Dyer has been asked to do The Celebrity Traitors – and admits he’s up for it if they’ll pay him enough money.
The Sun exclusively revealed how the straight-talking former EastEnders star was approached by BBC bosses last year to join the show but didn’t end up signing.
But now he’s watched it, Danny is keen to join for the 2026 season of Celebrity Traitors – and Beeb bosses have already put the feelers out for multiple celebrities to take part.
Talking on the Live and Let Dyer podcast today, he said: “I’m into it – they did sniff round me about it, I’d never seen it so it was a ‘no’ from me because for one I hadn’t seen it but now I’m into it…if you’re going to do it, if your famous, it needs to be an indulgence project, you have to love the game.
“It’s quite a simple game, I thought it was too complicated.. but it’s actually just about people manipulating people and a lot of lyin.
“If you’re a faithful it’s hard – you’re trying to over act that you’re a faithful and it backfires on you but yeah it’s a good line-up and I’m enjoying it.
“So if the money’s right… because I might get involved in the next series. I think I’d want to be a Traitor, there’s triple bluffs, double bluffs – it’s more fun to be a Traitor, you’ve got a job!”
But Danny is a very busy man. Not only is he still filming series two of racy drama Rivals on Disney, which more seasons believed to be in the pipeline, he is also enjoying success with his Sky comedy show Mr Bigstuff.
Fortunately its expected that the second series of The Traitors won’t take place until late spring, which is when the current series, airing on BBC One, was made.
Celebrity Traitors isn’t the only reality show fans could get to see Danny star in.
Danny’s daughter Dani, 29, was forced to pull out of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after breaking her ankle but teased her dad could take to the dance floor for the show’s Christmas special.
She told The Sun: “When it [Strictly] was announced, someone said Dani Dyer is doing it – they thought it was my dad. It’s not Danny Dyer – it’s the other one.
“I don’t know. You can never say never.”
Talking about a potential Christmas special appearance, she said: “That would be good. He’d have time to do the training for that.”
