A MUCH-loved bicycle store is closing its doors for good after 91 years of business.
The family-owned shop, which has been trading since before the Second World War, is now having a huge sale.

Whiteheads, founded in 1934 in Carlisle, is to close due to retirement, the owners announced on social media.
In a blow to shoppers and cyclists, the store, which also stocks motoring goods, is closing next month.
In a statement posted to the Love Carlisle Facebook page, the owners said: “We regret to inform you that after 91 years of serving our wonderful community, Whiteheads will be closing its doors due to Retirement.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support over the years.
“Your loyalty and patronage have meant the world to us.
“In the meantime, we’re still open, we’re still doing bike repairs, still making number plates – if anyone wants anything, we will be here until the stock goes.”
News of the closure sparked an outpouring of nostalgia among customers, with many posting messages of support for the owners.
One person said: “Got my Puch German version of the chopper bike from your dad.
“Its five gears and larger wheels front and rear put the Raleigh in the shade back in 1972.
“Enjoy your retirement gents.”
Another person posted: “Sad to see your closing. My late dad cycled with your dad and used to get his bikes from him.
“I’ve still got his bike he got from your dad in 1949. I’ve used you for many things over the years and always found you more than helpful.
“Hope you enjoy you’re well-deserved retirement.”

A third person wrote: “Kettle on, feet up, enjoy your retirement.”
A fourth person said the shop had been “part of the city for so long, respected and built life long relationships”.
They added: “The end of an era.”
Stock from the store is currently being sold at heavily reduced prices, including bicycles.
Whiteheads will close its doors for good on November 29.
