BARGAIN hunters are already filling their trolleys after a lookalike of M&S’s cult festive snack quietly reappeared at Asda.

The supermarket’s Merry Munch Mix has been spotted in stores this week, and it’s got the same sweet‑meets‑salty vibe shoppers love from the posh version, without the posh price tag.

Spotted in the seasonal aisle, the Merry Munch Mix comes in a red festive bag, and it’s a proper party bowl in one hit.

The pack lists honey-roasted peanuts, salted pretzel knots, milk chocolate buttons, milk chocolate beans, and salted caramel toffee popcorn.

That’s all the good stuff in one grab, so you get crunch, chew and chocolate in every handful.

It is exactly the sort of mix people rave about for Christmas movie nights, present wrapping sessions and last‑minute get‑togethers.

You can see it priced at £3.88 for a 400g bag – that works out at just under £1 per 100g, which is decent value for a snack that blends nuts, chocolate and popcorn in one bag.

If you’ve ever tried to build your own version from separate tubs, you’ll know it adds up fast.

Merry Munch: ASDA vs M&S

Price and size

  • Asda’s offering is priced at £3.88, which works out at roughly 97p per 100g.
  • The M&S Very Merry Munch (460g refill pack) is available at Ocado for £7, or £1.52 per 100g, while the M&S tin version can be found on Amazon for higher prices.
  • The M&S Peanut Butter and Jelly Munch Tin (544g) is available for £10, or £1.84 per 100g.
  • Asda has previously sold its version in a smaller 200g format for £2.50 (£1.25 per 100g)

What’s in the bag?

  • Asda Merry Munch Mix: Honey-roasted peanuts, salted pretzel knots, milk chocolate buttons, milk chocolate beans, and salted caramel toffee popcorn.
  • M&S Very Merry Munch: Features an iconic mix of milk-and-white chocolate popcorn, salted and dark chocolate pretzels, milk chocolate peanut clusters, and caramel almonds. In 2025, there is also a new Peanut Butter and Jelly flavour.

Every year, there’s one treat that sets off a mini stampede, and this looks like it.

The M&S mix is a Christmas favourite because it nails that salty‑sweet balance, and Asda’s version clearly aims for the same hit.

Chocolate‑coated bits sitting next to crunchy pretzels and toffee popcorn is an instant win for families, office snacks and party nibble tables.

It also looks the part, tipped into a bowl —half the battle when you’re hosting on a budget.

Look in the Christmas seasonal aisle and on promotional end caps in larger Asda stores.

Availability will vary by branch, and stock tends to move quickly once word gets out, so if you spot it, grab a bag for the cupboard.

Of course, in previous years, a range of supermarkets, including budget-fave Aldi, were also in on the Merry Munch hype.

It is the sort of thing that disappears the week before the big day and then reappears in January when you’ve run out of parties.
