Man in his 20s dead after being attacked in car park as cops launch murder probe

COPS have launched an urgent murder probe after a man in his 20s died after a horror attack.

The man was tragically confirmed dead after being taken to hospital with serious injuries at around 1.30am yesterday in Wolverhampton.

Police believe he was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road in Blakenhall.

West Midlands Police has taped off parts of the area and officers are carrying house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.

Forensic officers have been pictured combing a park and car park after an urgent murder investigation was launched.

Patrols have also been stepped up in the wake of the tragic fatal attack, said the force.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “We’ve started a murder investigation after a man has tragically died after being attacked in Wolverhampton.

“We were alerted to a man in his 20s being taken to hospital with serious injuries at around 1.30am today (22 October).

“Sadly, he was confirmed dead a short time later and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this deeply distressing time.

“Following prompt enquiries, we now believe he was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road.

“We’re in the early stages of our investigation and a scene remains in place there while we carry out CCTV, house-to-house and other enquiries in the area.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area as we seek to establish exactly what happened and offer reassurance to the community.
