THE UK’s top surf retailer is selling its flagship store, in a huge blow for lovers of the sport.
Shoppers have just days to head to the store before it closes its doors for the final time on Sunday, November 9.

A notice on the window of Ann’s Cottage in Falmouth thanks staff and customers for their support over the years, and said promised that this “isn’t goodbye, but see you soon”.
The notice reads: “After many wonderful years, we’re sadly closing our Falmouth store.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our amazing customers for their loyalty and support over the years.
“It’s been a privilege to be part of this community, and we’re especially thankful to our fabulous Falmouth team for all their dedication and hard work.“
The notice added that shoppers can still buy Ann’s Cottage products online, or at their other stores, located across Cornwall.
Ann’s Cottage was founded in 1978 by Rob and Beverley Harris, and started as a surfboard and wetsuit shop attached to a petrol station.
The company’s name came from the building it was housed in, and soon became integral with Cornish culture.
The popular surf shop soon grew, and at its peak had 14 stores across Cornwall, including in Newquay and Truro.
This latest closure comes just months after the chain closed another of its stores, in Wadebridge.
There are now just seven Ann’s Cottage locations left in the county.
More store closures
This follows the news that a major supermarket chain is planning to close over 100 locations across the UK.
The restructuring will see 103 locations, including cafés, florists, and pharmacies, cease operations.
Morrisons, which ranks as the fifth largest supermarket chain in the UK, announced the string of closures, delivering a significant blow to shoppers.
And a high street bargain store has launched a massive “final clearance” sale after announcing its town centre branch will shut for good.
The fragrance, homeware and fashion retailer is pulling down the shutters on its Warminster branch, following a previous string of closures.
Posters have gone up in the windows of The Original Factory Shop, confirming the store is closing down permanently as part of a major shake-up by its new owners.
A storeworker has confirmed the closure to The Sun, however the store’s final closing date remains unclear.
This also follows the news that Poundland has launched a closing-down sale for their West Thurrock branch in Essex, offering discounts of up to 40 per cent ahead of the store’s closure on October 27.
The store is the chain’s latest to launch closing sales, with branches in Deal, Kent, and Cameron Toll, Edinburgh, all preparing to shut up shop in announcements made this week.
Items at these locations will continue to be marked down in price until they’re sold, according to Poundland.
The closing sales cover all the stock in each store from homeware to groceries and clothing to health and beauty.
