Sean Bean, 66, is joined by his very own Maid Marian as actor makes a rare red carpet appearance with fifth wife Ashley Moore, 40, at the Los Angeles launch of Robin Hood

Sean Bean was joined by his very own Maid Marian on Tuesday evening as Los Angeles welcomed the launch of Robin Hood – a new TV series based on the exploits of Britain’s oldest outlaw.

Celebrating its first official screening at Culver Theater, Bean was making a rare red carpet appearance with Ashley Moore, his fifth wife, while mingling with his glamorous co-stars.

Dressed in a tobacco brown suit, the actor, 66, certainly looked the part while posing for photos alongside Moore on the red carpet shortly after arriving at the Hollywood venue.

Joining her husband, Moore, 40, Bean’s longest lasting wife of eight years, opted for a smart black trouser suit and white dress shirt for the special occasion.

The pair were joined by an array of co-stars, among them Jack Patten – who takes the lead as the titular Robin – and Lauren McQueen, the new show’s heroine Marian.

Bean, whose string of successful TV shows includes Game Of Thrones, Red Riding and Sharpe, takes another prominent role as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

The actor exchanged vows with Moore in front of 40 close friends and family members at Axnoller Farm in Dorset in February 2018.

A spokesperson told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘It was predominantly close family and friends; Anna Friel was there, who’s obviously starring with Sean in Broken at the moment.

‘Anna’s daughter Gracie was a bridesmaid and sung them a song, which was Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis, and she played that on the guitar as Ashley walked down the aisle. There probably weren’t more than 40 people there.

‘He’s super happy, I’ve never seen him so in love and committed and happy with Ashley. They’re very sweet together.’

Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Girl About Town the previous year, the Game Of Thrones star admitted he was hesitant about the prospect of exchanging vows after four failed marriages.

But his attitude soon changed after meeting Moore, a former nanny who is 26 years his junior.

‘I wasn’t planning on getting married again, but then I wasn’t planning on meeting someone as amazing as Ashley,’ he said.

‘I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.’

More recently the former Game Of Throne star has taken up the sword to help neighbours in their row over the decision to earmark two areas of greenbelt land for a huge 1,638 home scheme in his hometown of Sheffield.

Bean, who rose to fame in TV’s Sharpe before starring in The Lord of the Rings and GoldenEye, has joined furious locals who argue the new homes would overwhelm local infrastructure, increase pollution and harm public health.

The actor, who was born and raised in the suburb, has joined the ‘Save S13 Greenbelt – The Sapphire McCarthy campaign’, named in memory of a local resident who died during the group’s bid to fight the plans.

Mother-of-two Sapphire McCarthy had launched the campaign against the proposed scheme to build 868 homes off Bramley Lane and another 870 on farmland off Finchwell Lane, fearing it would ruin her ‘dream views’.

Bean has previously paid tribute to McCarthy who sadly passed away, aged 39, in July and praised her ‘valiant and impassioned campaign’.

The Labour Government has triggered a huge drive in the development of new housing projects across the country in recent months as part of its pledge to build 1.5 million new homes over the parliament.

Bean praised the community’s efforts in uniting together and fighting the plans with ‘passion and professionalism’ and how they had rallied to raise £10,000 to help with legal costs going forward.

He said: ‘It is incredible that within four months we have come up with barristers, planning consultants, hundreds of objections and with no help from the council – the only help has been from MP Clive Betts.

‘We have got 4,000 signatures on a petition so it is incredible how the residents have brought themselves together and how they have managed to get all this armour around them in such a short space of time and shows they mean business – we mean business – we are not letting it go like that.

‘We are not going to stop and we will see this through.’
