A plane passenger captured a fellow flyer’s ‘diabolical’ act while using the bathroom – though the move has left people divided on social media.
Natalie Buffett, who goes by @nataliebuffett on TikTok, shared an eight-second clip, which briefly captured a male passenger exiting the restroom at the front of the plane.
In the video, which Natalie had captioned ‘Straight to jail’ along with a sick emoji, the man casually saunters out of the bathroom and makes his way his way to his seat.
All seems fairly normal – that is, except from the passenger’s bare feet in full-view.
But while hundreds of viewers expressed ‘disgust’ at the flyer’s choice to use the ‘germ extravaganza’ bathroom without socks or shoes, others hit back at critics and encouraged them to ‘mind their business.’
One person, evidently appalled, commented: ‘Barefoot in a plane toilet is diabolical.’
Another declared, ‘Should be illegal,’ while a third chimed, ‘People are too comfortable…’
One viewer wrote, ‘Bet he didn’t wash his hands either,’ while another commented, ‘The amount of people who don’t see the issues with this is disturbing.’

However, other viewers sided with the shoeless passenger, as one added: ‘Too many people not minding their own business.’
Another said, ‘Damn imagine letting that bother you,’ while a third shared, ‘I’ve done that before. So what.’
But one person cautioned: ‘An airplane is a flying germ extravaganza. I can deal with the late zip up but the bare feet is what sends me.’
It comes after a flight attendant has revealed many plane passengers are ignoring a set of unwritten rules that could make the journey smoother – and cleaner – for everyone on board.
Barbara Bacilieri, known online as ‘Barbie Bac,’ is a 29-year-old from Argentina with more than 2.7 million followers on YouTube, who often shares behind-the-scenes content from her work at 30,000 feet.
Bacilieri, who now lives in Spain, opened up about the biggest things to avoid when it comes to air travel – most of which go completely ignored.
Bacilieri’s first rule for passengers is to keep their jokes to themselves, as she recalled: ‘There are passengers who, when they get on the plane, the first thing they do, even before saying “hello,” is make a joke.’
She further noted others have gone as far as to question the pilot’s gender, revealing one person joked they would ‘get off’ the plane if they discovered a woman was in the cockpit.

Bacilieri also cautioned against walking barefoot or brushing feet against plane carpets – or blankets – as they ‘aren’t very clean’
When it comes to in-flight hygiene, Bacilieri warned passengers to be cautious when entering a plane bathroom – as the liquid on the floor may not be water.
The flight attendant added: ‘You can’t imagine everything that’s in there.’
Bacilieri also cautioned against walking barefoot or brushing feet against plane carpets – or blankets – as they ‘aren’t very clean.’
Regarding blankets, she said: ‘Even though the blankets are washed before each flight, they’ve been used by so many passengers that you never know what might be in there.’
