AN EastEnders superfan named her baby after Peggy Mitchell — and has the Queen Vic landlady’s face printed on her daughter’s bows.
Sophie Marson-Riding, 24, says her tot, now four months, gets excited while watching the soap.
Sophie was discussing names with partner Paul Evans, 31, before she became pregnant
She recalled: “Because I love EastEnders I was throwing out EastEnders names.
“Peggy just stuck and I absolutely love it. When we found out we were having a little girl I was even more excited.
“I’m obsessed with Phil Mitchell, too, so it made sense.”
They welcomed daughter Peggy-Jo Evans on June 27.
Sophie, a carer from Lancashire, said: “Paul’s mum passed away last year and she was called Joanne so we thought we would put a bit of her in it, too.”
She bought custom-made bows with the face of Mitchell matriarch Peggy, who was played by the late Barbara Windsor.
She also has babygrows featuring Peggy’s classic line: “Get out of my pub.”
Sophie watches the BBC soap with her daughter and said: “Her little arms and legs start kicking.
“She’ll sit with her eyes on the TV and she’s glued.”
Paul said of his girl’s old-fashioned name: “I absolutely love it — plus it made the love of my life happy.”
