
POLICE have launched a major investigation after a dead body was discovered near a rural village.
Cops are at a remote location after the body was found by walkers near Awliscombe, a village near Honiton, in Devon, at around 11.20am on October 18.

Members of the public were at Hembury Hillfort, Neolithic causewayed enclosure and Iron Age hillfort, when they made the discovery.
Officers remain at the scene and a cordon is in place with road closures also in effect.
A police spokesperson said: “We have got an incident up at Awliscombe near Honiton.
“It came in at about 11.20am this morning, but we have reports of a body being found in the rural location there.
“We have a cordon set up and road closures on, and we are expected to be on scene for quite some time with inquiries ongoing.
“I cannot give anything more than that at the minute.”
The force emphasised no official identification of the body had taken place and could not confirm the age or sex of the body discovered.
