WITH assets worth £10,000,000 and a staggering 35 homes, Katie and Danny Bloomfield are poised to provide a very comfortable lifestyle for their children.

But if they were hoping to lead the life of a nepo baby, the couple’s six kids are in for a shock because there will be no handouts in this house.

In fact Katie and Danny are so keen not to spoil their brood that they have now implemented a family loyalty program.

Much like a Tesco Clubcard rewards are only available to those who have earned them, no matter how deep your parents pockets are.

The couple, who run DKB Homes, a property development and investment company, as well as Bloomfields, their business strategy and coaching brand, have built a family life that’s as intentional as their businesses.

And at the heart of it all? Their very own Bloomfield Rewards Scheme.

SHOP SHOCK

The entrepreneurial couple, who juggle a thriving business with family life, have created their very own “Bloomfield Rewards Scheme” for their children – one that celebrates hard work, teaches values and makes sure every success is shared.

Speaking on Steve Inala Reedy’s podcast A Content Space, the Bloomfields revealed how they intentionally designed a life where work and family don’t live in separate boxes.

Instead, they fit firmly together – whether that means taking the kids to business events, flying them to LA for a talk or simply letting them watch how mum and dad run things behind the scenes.

And with six children, the Bloomfields say rewards are an essential part of how they keep everyone motivated, grounded and involved.

“We’ve built a kind of family rewards scheme,” says Danny.

“If we land a big deal, we’ll take everyone to Center Parcs.

“If it’s a smaller win, we might all head to Costa for hot chocolate with marshmallows.

“Even that can cost £50 for all of us – but it’s worth it because our kids know they’re part of it.”

Sometimes the reward is pocket money or a shopping trip but other times it will be a mini break away together.

But for the Bloomfields, the principle is the same: tie family life and business life together so the children feel part of the journey.

Danny explains: “Our kids know about the highs and the lows.

“They see the 7am to 9.30pm days when we’re running back-to-back Zooms, podcasts and events.

“But they also see the wins – and when those wins come, we celebrate together. They know hard work pays off.”

Two of the Bloomfield children are even officially employed in the family business, something Katie and Danny see as part of raising them not just to be “rich kids,” but responsible ones.

“We want to leave a legacy,” says Katie.

“Not just money, but good values – hard work, teamwork, and the idea that when one of us wins, we all win.

“That’s what family is about.”

Katie and Danny, 41, started dating in 2017 after sparks flew on a night out, before marrying and starting their business two years later.

They say that right from the get go, sharing their lives was a big part of their ethos, with the couple even sharing inboxes.

Katie previously told Fabulous: “I’d been single for a long time and had grown cynical.

“It was Danny’s honesty that really appealed.

“We told each other everything straight away.

PARENTS ARE DITCHING TRADITIONAL POCKET MONEY AS A REWARD

A study of 500 mums and dads of 12-16-year-olds in 2022 revealed the new go-to ‘currencies’ to encourage youngsters to help around the home more.

The research, found more than four in five (84 per cent) parents are now turning to alternative ‘payments’.

And 56 per cent choose to give other treats to stop their kids spending their money all in one go, while 44 per cent prefer different methods as it is cheaper.

The research, commissioned by Sky Mobile, also found that while some are still giving money for chores (23 per cent), more than a third (36 per cent) would consider switching to something else as a savvy alternative.

TOP POCKET MONEY ALTERNATIVES

1.            Extra screen time (i.e. mobile phone, tablet, laptop)

2.            Chocolate/sweets

3.            In-game purchases e.g. Fortnite

4.            Being allowed friends round

5.            A shopping trip

6.            A later bedtime

7.            New clothes

8.            A takeaway

9.            Mobile data for their phone

10.          A trip out e.g. to the beach

“From day one we agreed to always be completely transparent with one another.

“One of the ways we do that is shared inboxes and linked phone calendars.

“You can’t email me without Danny seeing it — everything goes to one place.

“We are busy parents running a business, so there’s a constant flow of information and appointments.”

Nor do the couple worry about invading the privacy of friends who might want to message one of them separately.

Katie added: “We don’t sit and go through each other’s phones to read every bit of correspondence.
