AMAZON is launching new two hour delivery slots in a big shake-up for shoppers.
Customers can now choose what time they want large appliances, such as washing machines, delivered to their home.

Amazon said it will offer shoppers 2-Hour scheduled delivery slots, which they can book up to 14 days in advance.
Shoppers have four two hour slots to choose from, with the earliest starting at 10am and the latest 6pm.
The options are as follows:
- 10am–12pm
- 12pm–2pm
- 2pm–4pm
- 4pm–6pm
It means customers can plan ahead and not be stuck waiting around for a large parcel all day.
Amazon also said it will handle the heavy lifting and will deliver it to the room of your choice such as the kitchen.
But the offer is only available for large appliances including fridge freezers, washing machines, ovens, dishwashers.
There’s also no extra cost for scheduled delivery for large items for Prime and non-Prime members.
However, it is not always guaranteed that you will get your desired slot, as it depends on the item you have orderd and where you live.
Martyn James, consumer rights expert , said the news will bring joy to anyone who has ever “spent all day in waiting for a delivery that isn’t delivered”.
“But there’s some cold, hard business maths at play here. The longer the slot, the more likely it will be missed. And you can’t leave a fridge freezer outside someone’s door or in a wheelie bin!
“By introducing these tighter windows, Amazon are making it less likely they’ll have to take items back to the warehouse, which saves them money. The question is: can they meet the promised timescales?!”
Major retailers such as Currys also offer similar services.
The tech retailer charges customers £35 to choose what time they want their large appliances delivered. There is also a next day delivery option for £45.
John Lewis offers a 10-hour standard delivery slot for large items being delivered by John Lewis & Partners crews.
The retailer will contact you by text the night before your delivery to narrow your slot down to a 2-hour window.
