Big Brother evictee Cameron B reveals the house were ‘confused and in shock’ after George’s removal from the show following repeated warnings for ‘offensive language’

Big Brother evictee Cameron Barnes has admitted the house was ‘in shock’ when George Gilbert was axed, after he received multiple warnings from bosses for his use of ‘offensive language.’

Cameron, 25, was the third housemate to be evicted from this year’s show after losing out to Richard and Elsa in the public vote.

His exit came following a turbulent week that saw George removed from the show, and Caroline receive a formal warning for transphobic remarks towards fellow housemate Zelah.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Cameron shared how the house reacted to the news that George had been removed, little of which was shown on screen.

George was ejected by bosses after receiving multiple warnings for his use of language, with the former parish councillor sharing on Monday he was axed for comments that were deemed ‘antisemitic.’

Much of his comments were unaired due to broadcasting rules, but George has since claimed his ‘life is in tatters’ in the wake of the axe.

Cameron revealed: ‘It was pretty crazy, when the incident happened with what was said, I wasn’t really present, so then we’re just, I just thought I’ve not been any the wiser of what’s going on.

‘We’ve all been in bed, obviously gone to sleep, and then usually when you get woken up in the house, they’re blasting an alarm, and smash the lights on and you’re just trying to get your bearings when it’s on.

‘But at the time no lights came on, no sound, nothing, and it was just the dreaded, Big Brother voice ‘can George come to the diary room immediately,’, and you just think, I think a lot of people at the time thought it was a task, so everyone thought maybe it’s a task or something.

‘So we just all thought, pretty much nothing of it, and then he goes and then that was it, they just said ”George had been removed and then everyone was just in shock really.”

Cameron added that the house were ‘pretty confused’ in the wake of George’s exit as they questioned how it would affect that week’s eviction.

Cameron was evicted from the Big Brother house after a turbulent week that saw Caroline given a formal warning following her transphobic remarks towards housemate Zelah.

Despite huge backlash from viewers, Cameron said he believes Caroline still has a ‘heart of gold,’ despite agreeing her comments were ‘out of line.’

He said: ‘She has a heart of gold, Caroline, she does, obviously at the time it was just, a rash moment, a rash thing she said.

‘Obviously at the time everyone was just like, ”wow you can’t be saying them things”.

‘I’ve looked at Feyisola and said ”I can’t believe that’s just been said,” sort of in shock, and again, I’m hoping that’s not just the highlight of Caroline’s journey in the house.

‘She has a very inspirational story, she’s got a heart of gold, she’s an absolutely lovely woman. She just slipped up with things she’s said, everyone’s human I guess.

‘It was not the right thing to say at all, it was a bad thing to say, but hopefully it’s not just portrayed who she is, whole as a person on that one comment I guess, but she’s got a heart of gold.’

And in the wake of speculation around his close bond with housemate Nancy, Cameron hinted he’ll be keen to reunite with her when she leaves the house.

He said: ‘I presume we’ll probably see each other again when this is all done.

‘Me and Nancy were very close, we had a lot of heart to heart chats that never got aired really, or we were always in the garden talking..

‘We were very close, and obviously it comes to eviction day, I see her and she looks pretty uneasy again, you probably can see it on the clips when I get evicted, she’s tongue in cheek, she goes to the diary room, she starts tearing up, crying.

‘Before I went I was like ”listen, I don’t know why you’re worrying, you ain’t going anywhere, it’s me who could be going somewhere”, but it was just, she let the emotions out and she cried a bit in the diary room.’

Saying Nancy could become the ‘new troublemaker’ of the house following her recent rule-break, he added: ‘I think me and Nancy will probably see each other outside, especially when at the end there’s all like a big wrap party!

Last week, George was removed from the Big Brother house after repeated uses of unacceptable language, with the former parish councillor posting a YouTube video on Monday where he revealed the comments that got him axed from the show.

Fans did not get to see the offending comments that resulted in his removal, with them contrary to broadcast standards.

Cameron also touched on his fellow housemate Caroline, who received a formal warning last week after making a transphobic remark

George had received several warnings from Big Brother that were not shown before his removal from the compound.

In his video, he shared he had received warnings from ITV bosses for comments stating he ‘doesn’t believe that anyone is intrinsically good or evil’ and used Adolf Hitler as an extreme example.

The former housemate said he was reprimanded when producers interpreted this as ‘justification for the Holocaust’.

His day three warning came when he told housemates in a conversation how he would not conceive a child with a black woman.

The final straw then came when George made comments that were deemed antisemitic, and he revealed: ‘So I want to put an end to antisemitism or any other form of discrimination.

‘But I said I do understand why people are sceptical about some Jewish conspiracy at the top of the pecking order, because some of the finest minds in human history, from Shakespeare to Henry Ford to Cicero to Roald Dahl, these are some of the most intellectual men of all time, and they all have antisemitic tropes in their writings, so is it a case of no smoke without fire.’

Following George’s axe, a Big Brother spokesperson said: ‘Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.’

This week’s Big Brother has also been hit with a huge eviction twist, with housemates set to nominate as normal, but unbeknownst to them, the person who tops the public vote won’t be leaving the house.

Instead, their eviction will be fake, and they’ll move into a secret room where they will be joined by two former Big Brother stars who were voted out ‘too soon,’ with the identities of these housemates yet to be revealed.

Big Brother airs on ITV2 and ITVX.
