A woman who was filmed cutting yellow ribbons for Jewish hostages held captive in Gaza has been questioned by police.
Nadia Yahlom, 36, who is married to a Palestinian actor, was filmed using scissors to chop down the memorial bands which Jewish citizens had tied to railings in Muswell Hill, North London, on Monday in honour of those taken hostage by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023.
In the video, taken by horrified bystanders, Ms Yahlom declares the bands are ‘condoning genocide’.
The yellow ribbon is the symbol of the ‘Bring Them Home’ campaign for the hostages taken and held captive in Gaza.
Yesterday, Met Police confirmed a 36-year-old woman has been interviewed in connection with the incident, which is being treated as racially-aggravated criminal damage.
The incident came on the eve of the second anniversary of Hamas’s attacks on Israel, in which around 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage.
The Met Police said last night: ‘A woman has been interviewed under caution following an incident in Muswell Hill.
‘At approximately 16:25hrs on Monday, 6 October, officers were made aware of a video circulating online which appears to show a woman removing ribbons from fence poles in Muswell Hill.

‘Officers are continuing to carry out reassurance patrols in the Muswell Hill area.’
Following the incident, a group of Muswell Hill residents gathered at the memorial to replace the ribbons cut down by Ms Yahlom.
Yesterday, it emerged two more women were filmed tearing down yellow ribbons for Jewish hostages on the anniversary of the attacks.
Footage shows the two women brazenly ripping the memorial bands from a metal barrier opposite a synagogue on Henlys Corner in Regents Park Road, North London, on Tuesday.
They also snatch them from a nearby signpost, before smirking at each other and walking off with the ribbons stuffed inside a Mango shopping bag, surrounded by traffic.
A witness alleged cars could be heard beeping their horns at the women as they strolled away with the bands.
The Mail contacted Met Police about the new incident.
