Woman complains about her ‘s****y’ council house but people slam her when thousands are living in ‘a sleeping bag’

A WOMAN has come under fire for shamelessly moaning about her ”s****y” council house when thousands are living in ”just a sleeping bag”.

The woman, only known as Cat, took to TikTok to share the ”terrible” living conditions of her council house, which she is desperately trying to turn ”into something liveable”.

While Cat acknowledged she garden was ”big”, she finds it challenging to keep it looking neat and pristine.

”It’s a very messy garden because it’s so big and I do everything myself, without any help – I can’t do it all,” said Cat who also grows her very own tomatoes.

Outside, the woman’s cat Binksy has also found one of his ”favourite spots” to enjoy the sunshine in and watch birds from.

Showing what the two-floor property looked like inside, Cat moaned that her living room was just like the rest of the house – ”s****y”.

The spacious living room, which features grey carpet flooring, has a work-from-home set-up, a sofa on the side, as well as an armchair in front of the TV.

Cat said in the video: ”I don’t want to put my desk anywhere else even though I’ve got a spare bedroom – because I like to star out of the window and watch the comings and goings, because I’m a nosy b***h.”

The TikToker (@tiredbuttreasuredhome) also shared a little tour of her ”messy kitchen” with a laundry basket on the floor, some dishes by the sink and what appeared to be a black bin bag by the washing machine.

The kitchen boasted a marble-print worktop, white cupboards and herringbone flooring.

”I have since cleaned it but it’s a mess again,” Cat said.

The council house also has a dining room which the TikToker has turned into ”utility room” full of ”junk”, such as storage boxes and cans of fizzy drinks.

Since moving into the property, Cat has also ripped some of the old wallpaper off – however, she’s yet to finish the full redecorating process.

The TikToker, who shares the home with her brother, also showed off her spacious bedroom painted purple.

”It’s an absolute tip – cause let’s face it, the rest of the house it a tip and I don’t get a chance to do anything.

”It’s the last room in the house that gets touched – and it basically never gets touched because I’m always downstairs doing other stuff.”

How to do your council house up on the cheap

  • Take inspiration from pricier shops and head to B&M, Home Bargains for interior decorations.
  • Head to YouTube for easy to follow tutorials on how to decorate rather than paying for professionals.
  • For a quick glow-up for your floors or anywhere with tiles, opt for stick-on vinyl to save on costs.
  • A lick of paint does wonders to make a room feel brand-new.
  • Switch out kitchen cupboard knobs for modern ones instead of buying brand-new cupboards

The two-floor council house also has ”a spare room” which has light grey flooring, purple walls, a wardrobe and LED string lights for extra cosiness.

Showing off her home, Cat wrote in the caption: ”Welcome to my little council house.

”It’s messy, it’s untidy, and definitely not perfect — but it’s mine.

”I’m doing everything I can on my own to make it feel like a home, one step at a time. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real life.”

‘There are British people in sleeping bags’

Posted just one day ago, the clip has taken the internet by storm, racking up close to a staggering 130k views.

As almost 1,300 people gave it a like, 373 others flooded to comments – and many came after Cat for her ”shocking” moaning.

One furious viewer said: ”just remember there’s British people in sleeping bags, dreaming of the day they can have this.”

A second agreed, writing: ”Some people don’t know how lucky they are.”

”You have a better house then people who pay a mortgage,” someone else chimed in.

”Extremely lucky to have that house. My son and family have been on waiting list for 10 years and never been offered a chance to bid on one house in all those years,” a TikToker said.

Amongst the thousands of viewers were also those who dropped their suggestions on how to improve the state of the property.

”Could you find 15mins a day to declutter/clean a small area a day?” aa person said.

”Personally I’d start with the bedroom as that’s your space and where you should be able to relax, whereas other spaces appear shared.”

”Your home just needs a good decluttering lots of black bags & just throw everything in them straight to the tip & then you & your brother paint one room at a time,” another agreed.
