SHOPPERS have spotted a festive Cadbury treat back on supermarket shelves, one year after a similar product was axed.
Christmas may be months away, but the grim weather and darker nights will leave many Brits dreaming of cosy evenings by the fire, dining on yuletide snacks.
If December is too long for you to wait to treat your taste buds to festive delights, then why not pick some up now, as chocolate makers begin to launch their Christmas ranges.
Eagle-eyed snack fans recently spotted Cadbury Festive Animals on Tesco shelves.
Priced at £1.50 for a 119g bag, the Christmas snacks feature animal shaped biscuits, coated in yummy Cadbury chocolate.
The bags come with six smaller treat-sized portions inside, each just 97 calories/

Posting to the Snack News & Reviews Facebook page, one treat lover shared a snap of the limited edition biscuits on Tesco shelves.
Confectionery fans raced to the post’s comments section, to share their thoughts on the treat.
One person said: “It’s timeee.”
Another person said: “Love them!”
However, others moaned that the only thing seemingly festive about the snacks is the snow-themed packaging.
“What makes a monkey an elephant.. a lion .. and a pig festive?”, one person said.
Another person said: “The only festive thing is the packaging.
“The Festive Friends are what everyone wants to buy every year!”
Festive Friends axed
Last year, Cadbury confirmed that the popular Festive Friends treats would not be returning, and fans were left devastated.
Festive Friends were similar to Festive Animals, except the chocolate covered biscuits were in the shape of Christmas characters, such as Santa and Reindeer.
How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…
Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
Taking to X back in 2024, Cadbury said: ” Our Cadbury Festive Friends aren’t returning this year, but don’t worry, we have our new Cadbury Festive Animals for you to try.”
The comment was met with devastation from snack fans, with one penning: “I’ve had festive friends since I was a child. Getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa.”
Another person said: “”Christmas is getting ruined and it’s only September….. fuming.
“P.s don’t try telling me the festive animals are ‘the same’……”
However, chocolate fans have been delighted to discover that this year, a rare Cadbury Christmas selection box has been spotted on B&M shelves.
Cadbury Favourites includes 11 different chocolates, and is imported from Australia.
The 265g box features a number of rare treats, difficult to come by in the UK, such as the Dream Bar.
