This is why many money-smart beauty buffs are using press-on nails, which tend to be a cheaper alternative to pricey salon visits.
However, unlike with a professional mani, many fake nails usually don’t last as long – and in the end, defeats the purpose of saving money.
Luckily, one cash-savvy beauty fan, Ashleigh, has shared her routine that ensures her Primark press-ons last for ten whole days.
The popular high street retailer offers a huge variety of fake nails, with prices starting from as little as 90p – and whether you’re into burgundy or a basic French tip, there’s something for everyone.
Raving about the affordable alternative, Ashleigh said: ”These nails never fail me and it saves me a fortune.”
To keep the manicure looking as neat as possible for over a week, Ashleigh first starts by filing the top of her nails ”to keep them smooth”.
To give them some texture for the fake nails to last longer, the savvy TikToker also buffs the area.
Another key step in the prep is priming your nails to ensure there are no oils on them – and for this, she said, you can use any basic nail varnish remover.
Next, the TikToker demonstrated in the video, push the cuticles back.
”Once my hands are clean and dust-free, I go in and eye-measure the nails up to my hands and I line these out.
”I use the glue included, I pop a blob on and then I just rub it across the nails, so it’s evenly coated.
”I leave it on for about ten to 15 seconds before I apply the nail.
”Then pop the nail on and I hold it in place for about five seconds.
”Repeat that process for every finger, moisturise my hands and then I oil my cuticles.”

MUMS have sparked controversy after allowing their kids to get acrylic nails. But just how old do they have to be to be allowed to get them done legally.
According to the National Occupational Standards, anyone under the age of 16 has to be accompanied by an adult.
They also need written consent from a parents or guardian.
It’s also a good idea to check that the salon you’re planning to go to – just to ask if they offer services to children.
The TikToker, who posts under the username @ashleighmoneysaver, said that despite the method not being ”fancy”, the nails last for ”about ten days”.
Showing off her gorgeous manicure, Ashleigh said: ”I absolutely love how they look, so I always stock up – and it saves me a small fortune.”

More than a dozen people flooded to comments – and it’s not just Ashleigh raving over the budget-friendly alternative.
