As Strictly’s Ross King, 63, is cheered on by ‘beautiful and lovely’ girlfriend Bridget – could her sweet declaration of love be the push he needs to waltz back down the aisle for a third time?

It was a night of highs and lows for Ross King on Saturday as he took to the dancefloor for the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing.

A complete novice in a competition with several trained dancers, Ross wasn’t expecting to top the leaderboard. In fact, he came dead last, earning just 10 points out of a possible 40.

However, none of that mattered for Ross, 63, as he had his own personal cheerleader spurring him on from the sidelines, his glamorous girlfriend Bridget.

The showbiz correspondent – who has been married twice before – was quick to heap praise on the gorgeous brunette after she sat in the audience watching him cha-cha-cha with Jowita Przystal.

While the pair have been dating for three years, they have kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

However, despite having no interest in the limelight, American star Bridget was so determined to be there and support him that she flew over from Hollywood in order to support her partner in person.

After Strictly’s Ross King, 63, was cheered on by ‘beautiful and lovely’ girlfriend Bridget – could her sweet declaration of love be the push he needs to waltz back down the aisle?

Ross was quick to thank her for the sweet gesture, saying: ‘It’s so lovely that my girlfriend Bridget flew over 5,000 miles to come watch.

‘I said to her, “You have to come because there might not be many of these”.’

The cameras then caught a glimpse of Bridget looking stunning in a strapless black dress sat next to his sister Elaine.

While it was a long journey for Bridget to make, it was hardly surprising given the pair are so serious that is now considering tying the knot for a third time.

He was first married to actress Charley, born Helen Charlotte Way, in 1999, but they went their separate ways in 2006.

Ross later married Brianna Deutsch in 2015 before the pair quietly split in 2022.

Asked whether he would ever remarry, Ross said earlier this month: ‘Never say never again. How about that? I’m such a great believer in love. It’s certainly not one of those things, having been married twice before…

‘Either I’m really bad at it or I could be really good at it in the future, I don’t know. It depends which way you look at it: The glass is half full or the glass is half empty. But no, no, no, I’m a great believer in love.

‘I feel very fortunate with Bridget that I’ve found someone who is just absolutely brilliant in every way, so I’m very very fortunate.’

The couple’s night out at Strictly was the second time Bridget had made the trip to the UK in a matter of months, with Ross previously bringing her over in July to visit his hometown of Glasgow.

Ross was spotted with Bridget, and his family and friends, as they enjoyed espresso martinis and fizz during a visit to swanky Epicures restaurant.

He said at the time: ‘I brought my girlfriend Brigitte, who I met in LA, to find out exactly what life is all about.

‘My sister is here and it was her big birthday on July 4, and it’s my brother-in-law’s birthday as well, so we did a little wine tasting. We’ve had the most fantastic night.’

He revealed his free time was precious, musing: ‘I’m on a tour. I’ve been to London and I’m going to the Cotswolds as well. My mum and dad used to say to me, “there is no place like home”. then I put them in one and they changed their mind. I’m joking.

‘This is just my girlfriend coming to see everything here and Glasgow will always be home. I love coming back.’

Ross also heaped praise on his ‘beautiful’ girlfriend when he appeared on the How To Be 60 podcast last week, as he discussed living in Los Angeles and his plans to remain in southern California.

He said: ‘I love LA. Who knows what happens in the future but it would take a lot to take me away from LA. I love the place. I’ve got a great life there. I’ve got a beautiful, lovely girlfriend Bridget. We have a great time there. So it’s very much home.’

He was then asked how long they’d been together as he confirmed: ‘Nearly three years. So yeah. So we’re very very lucky.’

While Ross has been married twice before, he has no children.

His first wife Charley is known for her roles in Chicago, The Producers, and Controlled Chaos, performing on both the West End and on Broadway.

While they divorced 19 years ago, they have remained amicable and in 2023 they happily posed for snaps together after reuniting at the BAFTA Annual Burns Bash in Los Angeles.

Ross later married real estate agent Brianna Deutsch in 2015, with showbiz friends such as Gerard Butler, Patsy Palmer, Jackie Collins and Gary Barlow attending the ceremony.

Take That star Gary was also enlisted to perform at their glitzy nuptials.

Ross previously said of Brianna, who is 22 years his junior: ‘She’s beautiful and I know I’m punching well, well above my weight.

‘The age difference has never been an issue. I want to have kids too. I’m not worried about being an older dad. I’m a big family man.

‘I still get homesick for my mum and sister in Scotland and come back as often as possible. But I get up every day and from my house in the hills I look out across the Hollywood sign.

‘It always makes me smile. I’m a kid from Knightswood in Glasgow. It still feels like a fairy tale.’

After seven years of marriage, their split was said to be amicable.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘The pair have remained amicable and still run in the same circles, they just realised they weren’t on the same page romantically any more.

‘Ross loves living in Hollywood and has been throwing himself into work and writing novels.’

Like Ross, she also previously worked as an entertainment reporter for CBS, interviewing the likes of Clint Eastwood, Catherine Zeta Jones and George Clooney.

It wasn’t long after their split that Ross began dating Bridget.

Now, with the presenter admitting he’s open to a third marriage, and Bridget sweetly flying around the world to support him, it might not be long before Strictly fans are hearing wedding bells.
