Selena Gomez radiated the joy of a woman who’s finally found her fairytale ending as she married Benny Blanco on Saturday. But a body language expert claims the singer’s new husband looked far less comfortable in the spotlight.
The couple tied the knot in Santa Barbara surrounded by loved ones over the weekend, with photos capturing Gomez, 33, beaming with uncontainable happiness while Blanco, 37, often appeared more reserved.
‘Selena’s body language here lets us know that she has, quite simply, found “The One,”‘ Judi James told the Daily Mail exclusively after analyzing the wedding photos and videos posted by Gomez to Instagram.
She continued: ‘Her bonding signals with Benny suggest high levels of trust and feelings of security. She appears blissfully happy with the concept of marriage and with being someone’s wife.’
The star’s understated satin gown and modest lily of the valley bouquet set the tone for a ceremony that felt stripped back and heartfelt.
‘Selena and Benny’s wedding photos and videos define a very simple form of idyllic love with no overwhelming displays of wealth, power or A-list status,’ James noted. ‘Even her modest-sized bouquet suggests a pairing based on an almost pure, innocent-looking form of love that, for one of the couple at least, resembles a love they have been looking for since their childhood.’

Throughout the photos she posted Saturday night, Gomez’s joy seems uncontainable — clasping Blanco’s chest, gazing into his eyes or adjusting his bow tie with a flirty smile.
‘Most of her gestures suggest a more leading and controlling role in the relationship,’ James explained. ‘Her bouquet arm encircles Benny’s neck, and she places her other hand on his chest in a gesture of possession, with the hand near his heart suggesting ownership of that vital organ.’
Gomez also showered her new husband with tender ‘reward gestures.’
After kissing him on the lips, she was seen romantically cupping his face, reinforcing her devotion.
In another shot, she kissed him near the nose while smoothing his jacket with her hands.
At one point, the newlywed skipped barefoot across the lawn, bouquet in hand, tugging Benny behind her with carefree delight.

In some photos, Blanco leaned into the romance, resting his head in Gomez’s lap. But in others, his expressions were noticeably muted.
‘In the face-to-face poses he seems to have slipped into a bliss coma,’ James explained. ‘His features look expressionless, and his eyes almost appear closed. When Selena places her hands up near his neck, he pushes them down and turns away to the cameras.’
The contrast was clearest in one striking shot: Gomez running toward Blanco, radiant and smiling, while he stood in the background, ‘looking as though he’s waiting for a bus.’
Despite the mismatch in front of the camera, James insists the love between them is real.
‘Selena seems to have found her ecstasy ‘sweet spot’ here, looking like a woman who has been creating this perfect dream in her mind for much of her life,’ she said. ‘Benny looks like a guy who, although he adores her, might be more awkward in front of the cameras and happier when they are alone together and able to relax again.’
