TALK OF THE TOWN: Lily Allen’s surprising dating app confession: I’m an addict

Would you like to date a self-professed ‘recovering addict’ and ‘raging codependent’?

That’s how Lily Allen is pitching herself to prospective suitors on celebrity dating app, Raya.

I can reveal that the 40-year-old pop star – who has knocked two years off her age on her profile – has rejoined Raya once again.

But this time the star is operating under very different circumstances from the first time she appeared on the app.

Today, she is a singleton looking for love – and her profile shows a photo of herself wearing racy see-through black lingerie.

Last time, Lily was acting as a Wagatha-Christie-style undercover sleuth, trying to work out if her husband, American actor David Harbour, 50, was using the app.

And she was paranoid for good reason: it led her to discover that her now ex-husband was unfaithful.

‘Lily was looking for women that were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing,’ a source revealed at the time.

The couple split late last year, and since then, Lily has been throwing herself into dating.

The Smile singer was seen on a date with actor James Norton, 40, at a London music festival in the summer, but nothing serious seemed to materialise.

Perhaps that was because the Happy Valley star found another festival girlfriend weeks later at Glastonbury – fashion stylist Flora Huddart.

Last month Lily confirmed she has finally moved out of the palatial New York townhouse she shared with Stranger Things star Harbour.

Now she is focusing on redecorating her new West London ex-council flat where she will live with her two daughters.

Bad Manners? Lady calls Emma ‘entitled’

With distinctly upper-middle-class parents, Harry Potter star Emma Watson might be used to people calling her ‘entitled’… but it’s a bit rich when that criticism comes from a Lady of the realm!

Lady Violet Manners who grew up in Belvoir Castle as the daughter of the Duke of Rutland, made her snipe after hearing Emma on a podcast.

‘I wanted to feel inspired,’ she said.

‘But she comes across painfully entitled… so removed and affected.’

No wonder Lady Violet, 32, was once known as one of the ‘Bad Manners’ sisters!

Lucy wants calming little thing called love

She started dating her now ex partner Rami Malek when they starred together in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, but actress Lucy Boynton, is looking for something a little less, well, mercurial, in her own love life.

Speaking at a Pleasure Shelf book club event hosted by her sister Emma-Louise, 31-year-old Lucy, right, said: ‘Real love is where you’re calm.

‘You don’t need to live in that permanent state of intensity – that should be reserved for film and literature.’

The ex-girlfriend of actor Rami Malek Lucy Boynton says she is pursuing ‘calmer iterations of love’ after reading romance novels.

Speaking at The Pleasure Shelf event series hosted by her sister Emma-Louise Boynton, the star says ‘real love is where you’re calm.

You don’t need to live in that permanent state of intensity – that should be reserved for film and literature.’

Lucy starred alongside Malek as Freddy Mercury’s girlfriend, Mary Austin in Bohemian Rhapsody.

The irony does not escape me.

Author Amber Guinness was looking forward to the Netflix drama about her colourful dynasty… until she saw it.

‘I watched the first episode and thought it was boring,’ she told me at the launch of Rory Knight Bruce’s new book, Sins And Sensibility.

The brewing heiress was also glad she skipped the premiere, after the Daily Mail compared her relatives who graced the red carpet to the Addams Family.

A narrow escape!

Lily-Rose told to Deppart…

My spies saw Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose, right, rejected from the trendy restaurant Andrew Edmunds last week.

The 26-year-old arrived at the Soho eaterie hoping for a table for dinner but was turned away because it was full.

But the Chanel model is in good company – the late David Bowie was once famously turned away too.

Nothing ch-ch-changes.

Actor Rupert Everett is in hot water with The Polly Tearooms in Wiltshire after he told a Chelsea Arts Festival event that ‘the Hooker of Marlborough’ operated in the quaint cafe.

Owner Ann Naughton tells me: ‘As far as I know, we’ve never entertained hookers here. And I’m not the madam!’

What does Rupert know?

How v.v. Bridget Jones of her!

On the way to meet Queen Camilla at Chatsworth House last week, the singleton’s creator, Helen Fielding, had to get dressed into her red velvet dress in the bathroom of Tibshelf services on the M1.

‘Changing in the motorway service station to meet the Queen… as one does,’ she said.

Pet leaves Ora shell shocked

I hear pop star Rita Ora, left, has given away her pet tortoise because it was too ‘high maintenance’.

I imagine feeding the reptile leafy greens a couple of times a day was just too strenuous for the pop star.

The Hot Right Now singer explains she bought the pet for her stepchildren but they weren’t interested.

‘They were like ‘What do I do with this?’,’ she says.

‘And then I realised I don’t really have the time to look after it. I had to give it away.’
