MAFS UK fans insist experts mismatched couple on purpose to cause drama saying ‘it’s all for ratings’

MAFS UK fans have insisted that experts have completely mismatched the couples on purpose.

Viewers of the long-running Channel 4 social experiment have claimed they just want to cause drama.

On Married At First Sight UK, experts Paul Brunson, Charlene Douglas, and Mel Schilling put prospective partners together.

They are supposed to match the pairs based on both personality traits as well as look compatibility after meeting each contestant.

On tonight’s episode of the E4 reality series, the audience tuned into see Maeve, 29, tie the knot with Joe, 31.

In their separate interviews, Maeve admitted that she loves a party, while her husband-to-be admitted that he hit rock bottom due to excessive nights out.

He admitted that his mother burst into tears in a dramatic intervention before he turned his life around to become a personal trainer.

While Joe joked about several “failures” at keeping business and pleasure completely ‘separate,’ Maeve opened up on her insecurities.

When she made her way down the aisle, he remarked: “I get the vibe that she is a partygirl, she’s very lively, very bubbly, that’s a worry.”

As Mave reached her husband to be, she was so nervous she said that she needed to get a drink down her, something which Joe did not find attractive.

At the reception, Maeve declared: “If this was Rose I would be on my second glass already.”

She also described herself as a “wild” and “argumentative” when she gets drunk, something which Joe also did not warm to.

Watch horrifying moment MAFS couple have explosive honeymoon row

Whilst she was over the moon with her new “fit” husband – he had concerns immediately, something which viewers also shared.

Fans of the E4 show thought that the pair were not compatible as they took to social media in droves as they predicted the couple would not be successful.

As they predicted that the pair would clash, viewers took to X as they accused the experts of matching the duo together on purpose just to create drama and increase ratings,.

One viewer fumed: “Yet again the simple facts of matching are not done. I could do a far better job of matching than these so called ‘experts’. It’s all a TV ratings fake.”

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

A second claimed: “They are matched intentionally, just not for any love/relationship reason. Mainly for drama and viewing figures reasons!”

Nice work “experts” – partnering a guy who has been at rock bottom from partying, with a boozy party girl,” sarcastically noted a third user.

While a fourth wrote: “These “Experts” are taking the piss [crying with laughter emoji] This Girl admitted she gets jealous easy… they’ve matched him with a Personal Trainer [laughing emojis] F*** sake what a bunch of [clown emojis].”

As someone else posted: “So basically the ‘experts’ (whatever that means) did a bad job then, this season. Most of the couples don’t like each other.”

And a sixth user posted a screenshots of the three experts before writing: “ChatGPT, give us some absolute waffle to spout about relationships because we haven’t got a f****** clue how to match anyone.”
