Prior to the caravan’s mega makeover, it looked and smelt old.

However, thanks to bargain buys from Amazon, B&Q and Home Bargains, the caravan is now super glam and bright.

Posting on social media, Katie proudly showed off her caravan, which her nanny bought her and her partner for £1,900.

Showing off the dated caravan, Katie said: “We finally have a reveal. We finally have our first trip booked and I cannot wait – I’m taking you back to where it all started.

“So this is the caravan on day one – we could have taken this caravan on a trip [but] the way it stood, it just wasn’t our style. We wanted to make everything look nice, up to date.

“Everything was old, it smelt old, but now it smells like daisies.

“There has honestly been real blood, real sweat and real tears put into this caravan, but I cannot believe how it’s turned out.”

Showing off the caravan after its overhaul, the content creator added: “I am so happy. Just look at the difference.

“Everything is so much brighter, such nicer colours, everything nice and neutral.

“And I know I’m not everybody’s style, but this is what’s nice for us and we really love it.

“I can’t get over how nice the curtains are. In person, they’re so much nicer.

“It just looks so fresh and so cosy. I cannot wait to go out in it.”

Showing off the glamorous bathroom, Katie beamed: “I might be a wee bit obsessed with the bathroom, I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I wish I could invite you all down to see it in person, because I feel like it’s nicer in person

“I have plans to eventually change the bathroom sink, but it’s ok for now.”

Katie also gave viewers a glance at the caravan’s kitchen, as she continued: “I actually vinyled the whole thing and it turned out lovely.

“All the finer details and bits and pieces really make a difference.

“I’m so glad we changed the tap, although it was really, really hard to do.”

Thrilled with the glam caravan, Katie explained: “It just feels like such a nicer space. I wish I could invite you all down to see it in person, because I feel like it’s nicer in person.

“I think my favourite before and after has to be the bathroom, but I think it’s because there’s colour in here and I’m always scared to go for colour.”

Why caravan holidays are so underrated

CARAVAN park holidays are a British staple.

And with the cost of living crisis wreaking havoc on Britain’s purses, more of us are turning to them for an affordable break.

Josie O’Brien, Senior Digital Writer on Fabulous, weighs in on why she thinks caravan holidays are seriously underrated…

WHEN I was a child, my mum used to collect the £9.50 holiday vouchers in The Sun.

She’d use them to book a couple of nights away at a caravan park during the school holidays.

As an adult, I fully appreciate the convenience of a humble caravan holiday.

No faffing about with passports, no luggage limits and no bog-standard hotel breakfast of stale toast and grey eggs.

I still love caravan holidays as an adult.

In a world of doing everything for the ‘gram, a caravan park brings you back to basics.

There’s no obligation to get dressed up, no stress to fit a million picturesque excursions in one week and I don’t find myself flustered in tourist hot spots like abroad.

I love going to coastal caravan parks and strolling along the beach parade.

My highlight is always fresh mussels, ice-creams and classic pubs to grab an afternoon tipple in.

And then, of course, there’s the cost.

Staying in a caravan is definitely way cheaper than my international trips.

With no expensive hotel bills and the ability to cook my own meals, I’m spending hundreds less than I would abroad.

I’ve had some of my best and most relaxing holidays in caravans. Maybe I’ll buy my own one day.

Katie reveals all

Katie then opened up to Fabulous about her caravan’s transformation and confirmed that she got her paint from B&Q and her vinyl wrap for the worktops from The Range

To give the kitchen a glow-up, she bought brass handles from Amazon and nabbed soft furnishings on the cheap from Tk Maxx and Home Bargains.

As well as this, she bought light fixtures from Amazon and her accessories from B&M, The Range, Primark and Home Bargains.

To give the seating area a new look, she got rugs from IKEA and to save cash, borrowed tools from her nanny.

Thrilled with her caravan overhaul, Katie told us: “I’m so happy I’ve been able to share my journey of renovating my caravan and to show others that it really can be done.

“I never imagined how many people would be inspired by my story and even encouraged to get their own caravans. It’s been incredible to see the positive impact this journey has had.”
