Jealous haters slammed me for taking my kids out of school for a ‘cheap’ Spanish trip… I think go karting is educational

A MOTHER has clapped back at “jealous” trolls who attacked her for taking her children out of school during term time.

Rather than sending her youngsters to school, Charlotte Bradbury took her little darlings on holiday to Lloret de Mar, a popular resort town on Spain‘s Costa Brava coast, known for its beaches, lively nightlife, and family-friendly attractions.

But after sharing footage from the family trip on social media, which was full of fun around the hotel’s swimming pool, Charlotte, who is from Wigan, has found herself on the receiving end of mean abuse from keyboard warriors.

However, it appears that the blonde beauty won’t let the haters get her down, as she was eager to set the record straight and respond to those who commented on her “cheap” holiday.

Posting online, Charlotte confidently responded to a comment that read: “Missing the point. Kids’ education is very important. More important than a cheap holiday.”

In response, Charlotte said: “So let us just address something I’ve had a lot of comments on – I took my kids out to school because they’re my children. I did all the labour with them, they’re MY children.

“So if I get fined, I get fined, alright? That’s none of your business.

“But to sit there and say I’ve had a ‘cheap’ holiday – that makes you jealous cause you ain’t had a holiday, have you? You would have loved that holiday that I went on.”

Clearly unphased by the remark, Charlotte added: “I’m not bothered about how nasty you are.

“Honestly, it just breathes and smells jealousy.”

Eager to set the record straight on her “educational” trip, the content creator continued: “On my holiday, we did some educational things – we went go karting, that’s educational.

“We went to the beach, we looked for shells, we went to a castle.

Mum who thought she’d ’got away’ with perfect term-time holiday is left stunned at the school response to son’s absence

“We did all sorts, so if I wanna take my kids out, it is nothing to do with you.”

Not only this, but Charlotte, who has previously been called the ‘Gemma Collins of Wish,’ got candid on the things that are most important to her, as she confirmed: “Education is not the most important thing in the world.

“Having happy, healthy kids is the most important thing in the world.

Enjoy your education while we’re on holiday having fun

“So I’m sure you probably don’t have any children, because if I wanna take my kids away, they’ll go away.”

But that’s not all, as the mother, who has amassed 69,600 followers on TikTok and lives on a council estate, confirmed that although many people go on holiday during term time to save money, this wasn’t the case for her.

She snapped: “We don’t go on cheap holidays, let me tell you.

What school fines can parents receive?

THE main issue that can lead to parents receiving a fine is missing school.

Currently, it’s the decision of the local council whether or not to issue a parent a fine for their child missing school.

However, from August this year, the fine for absences will up to the school to consider – when a child has missed 10 or more sessions for unauthorised reasons.

And the fine will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days – this is issued to EACH parent.

It’s the first time the fine has been increased since 2012, and is in line with inflation.

If a parent receives a second fine for the same child within three years, this will automatically be charged at the higher rate of £160.

Fines will be capped at two fines within a three-year period.

After this limit has been reached, prosecution or a parenting order may be considered.

According to the official government website, there are only five reasons your child should be absent from school if the school is open.

These are as follows:

  1. Your child is too ill to attend that day
  2. You have asked in advance and been given permission by the school for your child to be absent on that day due to exceptional circumstances
  3. Your child cannot attend school on that day because it is a day you are taking part in religious observance
  4. Your local authority is responsible for arranging your child’s transport to school and it is not available on that day or has not been provided yet
  5. You are a gypsy/traveller family with no fixed abode, and you are required to travel for work that day meaning your child cannot attend their usual school

“We don’t have nothing cheap. We don’t have cheap food, we don’t have cheap clothes, we don’t have cheap shoes, I don’t have a cheap house. There’s nothing cheap about me.

“So you enjoy your education while we’re on holiday having fun.”

Social media users react

Charlotte’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @charlo809, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 89,100 views.

Despite the hate she has previously received, social media users rushed to the comments to praise Charlotte for clapping back to the hater.

Well said, none of her business

One person said: “You are absolutely right. Happy, healthy kids in a loving family IS the most important thing.

“I wouldn’t have mattered if you’d sat by the pool all day and had dinner together each night – it’s good for the kids to feel a part of a family and feel loved. I’m a retired teacher.”

Another added: “Travelling and enjoying life is education too.”

A third commented: “Well said, none of her business.”

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Spot on Charlotte. The education system is very outdated and I would put my kids in homeschooling if I could.”
