Donald Trump to blast UK for ‘gesture politics’ and ‘rewarding’ Hamas after recognising Palestine

DONALD Trump will today blast the “gesture politics” of nations including the UK who have recognised Palestine.

The US President is expected to use a speech to the UN to accuse them of “rewarding” Hamas terrorists.

His press secretary Karoline Leavitt said yesterday: “He feels this does nothing to release the hostages, does nothing to end the conflict.”

The Palestinian flag was raised at its London embassy as head of mission Husam Zomlot was joined by Health Secretary Wes Streeting and left-wing MP Jeremy Corbyn.

Hamas terrorists have declared victory for “the justice of our cause” after Britain recognised the State of Palestine

The major foreign policy shift made Britain one of more than 150 states to now recognise Palestine.

CanadaAustralia and Portugal joined the UK in this move.

Sir Keir called it a “pledge to the Palestinian and Israeli people that there can be a better future”.

It comes after nearly two years of war following the atrocities of October 7, 2023 in which Hamas terrorists killed around 1,200 people and took hundreds hostage.

Senior Hamas figure Mahmoud Mardaw declared that this recognition of Palestine is a “victory for Palestinian rights and the justice of our cause”.

He added that it would send a “clear message” to Israel.
