A 14-YEAR-OLD girl was stabbed while three teenagers, 14, were arrested at the scene.
Police were called to a park in Shropshire on Sunday evening, following reports from residents that they could hear screaming.
Three young girls, all aged 14, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and currently remain in police custody.
The 14-year-old victim was rushed to hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life threatening, West Mercia police report.
The horror attack took place at 7.40pm in a park near Mayfield in Whittington.
West Mercia police have since launched an investigation into the incident.
Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmell said: “I know this incident has shocked the local community, and I’d like to reassure you that we’re working hard to understand what happened.
“A scene guard remains in place this morning and there will continue to be a police presence in the area throughout the day while officers carry out enquiries.
