HOUSE hunters can grab this semi-detached home for just £45,000 – but what’s waiting behind the front door will shock you.
The three-bed property is in the quiet village of Nantlle, surrounded by the dramatic Nantlle Ridge in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.
From the outside, the house looks like a typical countryside home.
But step inside and you’ll find piles of rubbish and clutter filling almost every room.
Photos show bags of waste, old furniture, discarded clothes and other junk covering the floors.
Any buyer will need to roll up their sleeves before they can even think about redecorating.
Auctioneers admit the house is in a sorry state.
All Wales Auction House said the property “is in need of renovation and refurbishment” – a serious understatement judging by the photos.
The house comes with two reception rooms, one open to the kitchen, plus a ground-floor bathroom.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a separate toilet.
But the big challenge will be clearing the inside.
The agent warns the house will be sold “as seen” and adds: “Although contents are not included, they will not be removed.”
That means the new owners will inherit every last item left behind.
Despite the work needed, the location is hard to beat.
The village is set right on the edge of Eryri National Park with mountain views on all sides.
Heritage website Coflein says: “Nantlle is set in an industrial landscape of slate quarries and a natural landscape of lake, moorland and mountain.
“It is a mainly planned village of the mid-late nineteenth century and many of its buildings were architect-designed, demonstrating how the influence of capitalist owners extended from the workplace to the home.”
It also notes that the village has some of the finest 19th century workmen’s houses in Wales, built alongside middle-class homes that showed off the social order of the time.
This follows another home that left buyers flabbergasted: the three-bedroom property in Brislington, Bristol, looked pleasant and welcoming — but one disgusting feature was simply too much to bear.
The open-plan utility room seemed perfectly normal at first glance. But look a little closer and you’d spot the surprising addition that had viewers squirming.
A toilet had been plonked right in the middle of the space, alongside the washing machine, fridge-freezer, sink and even a coffee machine.
Despite food and drink being stored in the same room, there was nothing to separate the loo from the kitchen set-up.
The unusual arrangement was described as a “utility/downstairs WC” in the listing.
Pictures of the property were quickly shared online where users were left “flabbergasted” and joking about the bizarre setup.
