RORY MCILROY has reignited his feud with golf rival Bryson DeChambeau.
The Northern Irishman and American are long-term rivals and have famously not seen eye to eye in the past.
However, ahead of the start of the Ryder Cup in Bethpage Black later this week, McIlroy turned up the heat by taking a shot at his cross-Atlantic rival.
Speaking to The Guardian, he said: “I think the only way he gets attention is by mentioning other people.
“That is basically what I think of that.
“To get attention he will mention me or Scottie [Scheffler] or others.”
The rivalry crossed the line of professional to more personal after the DeChambeau left the PGA Tour for the rebel LIV Golf.
McIlroy, 36, was one of the most vocal critics of the Saudi-backed league.
But things came to a head last year when the pair squared off for in the final round of the US Open.
DeChambeau, 32, claimed the win following a late collapse by McIlroy which continued his major loss streak.

McIlroy finally ended that streak against DeChambeau in The Masters earlier this year.
However, the American claimed McIlroy refused to speak to him during the final 18 holes in Augusta.
McIlroy had responded to that by saying: “We’re trying to win the Masters. I’m not going to try to be his best mate out there.”
And while they will square off against one another again at the Ryder Cup, they did actually line up on the same team for Happy Gilmore 2.
They starred alongside Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka too, as well as Adam Sandler.
