Has been knocking on the door since winning at Ayr in July and this looks an excellent chance. He takes a slight drop in class after an unlucky third at Catterick last time. He came home with plenty left in the tank after having the door shut in his face entering the closing stages. This trip suits and promising 5lb claimer Elizabeth Gale can take him close again.
MIDNIGHT RODEO (5.30 Wolverhampton, nb)
Has every chance of landing the hat-trick. He landed a cosy win at Kempton before following up here last time without breaking sweat. A 6lb penalty for that smooth success won’t stop him.
KRANJCAR (5.38 Leicester, treble)
Made it three wins on the spin at Brighton last time and is another who is hard to beat under a penalty. He has been well placed by George Boughey.
PERGOLA (8.00 Wolverhampton, Lucky 15)
It’s early days for the William Haggas runner but she went close at Windsor last time and this slightly longer trip should be ideal.
