As well as this, the content creator added: “I have lived in multiple different countries in Southeast Asia and I can genuinely say I have never felt unsafe in my life in Thailand – I am choosing to raise my baby in Thailand because it is so safe.”

In a follow-up clip, the mother got candid on the things she loves about raising her baby in Thailand.

As well as feeling “so safe,” she stressed that there is “so much stuff to do outside.”

She beamed: “We are always outside, it doesn’t cost a lot to do these things either – we can actually go out all the time and enjoy our time as a family.”

Discussing the “slow pace of life,” Michaela continued: “Everything in Thailand is slower, it’s so much more relaxing here, it is a lot more calm.”

But that’s not all, as she’s also able to buy lots of healthy fruit and vegetables for “so cheap” too.

She beamed: “There’s so much culture in Thailand and it’s so beautiful to be a part of a country that is proud of its culture.”

How easy is it to move abroad?

Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here’s what you need to do at home before moving:

  • Notify HMRC about your upcoming move.
  • Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address.
  • Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving.
  • If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad – contact the International Pension Centre.
  • You can sign up to the Royal Mail’s redirection service.
  • If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre.
  • If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools.

Social media users react

Michaela’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @micsquinn, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 65,200 views and 7,772 likes in just four days.

And it wasn’t just Michaela who praised the safety of Thailand – as numerous others raced to the comments to agree with her.
