Wholesome moment Robbie Savage carries young fan to celebrate on the pitch with team after Forest Green Rovers win

ROBBIE SAVAGE made a young fan’s day after Forest Green Rovers’ win over Woking by carrying him onto the pitch to celebrate.

The match, played away from home, saw Rovers continue their unbeaten start to the season under Savage and the 2-0 win had fans buzzing.

But it was Savage’s sweet gesture afterward that really stood out.

After the final whistle, the 50-year-old coach spotted a young supporter with a man, presumably his dad.

Without a second thought, he walked over, lifted the fan onto his chest, and carried him onto the pitch to join in the celebrations.

It wasn’t just about the result—it was a moment that showed the real connection between the manager and fans.

Fans quickly took to social media to praise the heartwarming gesture, with many calling it a “class act” and a perfect reminder of what football is all about.

Rio Ferdinand joined in on X formerly Twitter: “Love it.”

Another fan said: “Class that, Robbie.”

While a third just kept it simple: “Impossible to watch that without smiling.”

They have played 10 games, won seven and drawn the remaining three.

Forest Green Rovers boss Robbie Savage relishes victory over Wolves U21s

Savage has become a fan favourite at Forest Green and this moment will only make him more beloved by supporters.

His passion for the club is clear and this act of kindness showed he cares about more than just football.

Last week he showed his flair for management by making FOUR substitutions in the first minute of Forest Green’s clash with Wolves Under-21s.

Competition rules state that National League sides must start at least four players that began the previous league fixture.

For the contest Savage made his seven legal changes to the starting XI.

In order to circumvent the rules, the Welshman subbed all four – Tom Knowles, Kyle McAllister, Neil Kengni, and Abraham Kanu – within the first minute of the match.

The bold changes worked a treat, with Forest Green’s fully rotated team going on to win 3-2.

Savage joined Forest Green in the summer after guiding Macclesfield to promotion last term.

According to reporter Pete O’Rourke, Savage is already attracting interest from elsewhere.

He claims that the Forest Green boss is “on the radar” of clubs as high up the pyramid as the Championship.

The former Leicester and Blackburn star wound down his pundit duties on TNT Sports to move into management last season.
