But since turning 60, Mark Labbett, who stands 6ft 7in and is known as the Beast on the ITV programme, has said that he is no longer bothered about having a girlfriend – or sex.
‘It’s not as urgent as it used to be,’ he told The Mail on Sunday, adding he would rather watch Sky Sports instead.
Mr Labbett said: ‘I’m very happy on my own.
‘It’s a committee of one. If you want to do something then you do it, like if I want to watch that film then I do it.
‘Saturday mornings, I put Sky Sports on and I stay in all weekend. That’s heaven.
‘Some people have to be in a relationship but I’m not that bothered about it now, and I am pretty comfortable being on my own.
‘Plus, bear in mind with my lifestyle I’m all over the world.’

Earlier this year, Mr Labbett took part in E4 show Celebs Go Dating and last month was seen having lunch with beautician Deanne Perkins, 57, whom he met on the show.
Mr Labbett, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier this year, previously weighed 29 stone but has shed over ten stone since the Covid pandemic.
He told the MoS: ‘I haven’t had Ozempic but I’m seeing my specialist at the end of the month and if they told me to have it I would.
‘But they’d go, “You’ve lost so much weight already, there’s no point”.’
Mr Labbett has been a regular on The Chase since the show first aired back in 2009.
He also appears in its US and Australian editions, as well as its celebrity specials and spin-off Beat The Chasers.
