A LEGENDARY SUV model that has been reborn will be coming to the UK very soon – and it’s cheaper.
This new vehicle will be the entry point for a range of incoming models planned to be rolled out in the next couple of years.

A “baby” Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been announced that will have a sports design using “nearly all unique parts”.
The design is expected to be “even more modern than the current car”, according the brand bosses.
A preview image of the rear of the new vehicle was revealed at a show in Munich.
Speaking at the show, Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius said: “The G is a very special, authentic car, and the Mini G has to be authentic.
“So I cannot take just a platform, I cannot take an existing platform – I have to create my own.
“It’s a completely new development.”
And test mules of the vehicle are expected to appear on roads “very soon”.
What has been coined the “Mini G” will be based on new architecture, according to tech boss Markus Schäfer.
This Mercedes will be therefore be “as authentic as possible”.
Sitting on a bespoke ladder-frame platform, it has been labelled a “miniature ladder-frame chassis”.
Schäfer suggested it will not be to the extent of the G-Class ladder-frame, but have similar qualities in terms of suspension and wheel size.
This is in addition to a number of other unique components, primarily around the body work, which Schäfer stated was “far more than I every wish to tell you”.
He said: “Over time, just looking at the car’s capabilities and what’s needed, I came to the conclusion that everything has to be unique, the whole upper body and everything.”
Everything from the door handles to the powertrains will be a surprise.
It is understood that while the current G-Class is offered with both a combustion engine and electric power, the Mini G will be exclusively sold as an EV.
Design boss Gorden Wagener added that it will be a “tweaked” G-Class that will make it even more modern than the electric G580 EQ launched last year.
He said: “On the little one, we will give a slight tweak: a bit more sharpness, a bit younger [headlight] graphics but still circle.
“So really it’s details.”
Fundamentals of the design, however, are set to stay the same to maintain its iconic nature as a Mercedes G.
As Wagener states: “You have to hold yourself back and understand what the icon is about.
“We strive for iconic design, and there is not such an iconic piece like the G.”
