Owen Cooper celebrated the biggest night of his life on Sunday, making Emmys history when he became the youngest ever male winner.
The Warrington teenager jetted to Hollywood with his parents for the glittering ceremony, where he rubbed shoulders with his idol Jake Gyllenhaal and was handed his award by Sydney Sweeney.
But whilst the Adolescence star celebrated his own success, Owen, 15, was equally excited for his onscreen dad Stephen Graham, who swiftly became a three-time winner for acting, writing and producing the Netflix series.
New footage has revealed the sweet moment Owen found out Stephen had won the Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series award.
Minutes after scooping his award, Owen was being interviewed backstage for the Emmys YouTube channel when correspondent Albert Lawrence told him ‘Stephen just also picked up an award’.
A shocked Owen gasped ‘did he?’ before turning to his team off camera to ask for confirmation.

‘Oh my god. Oh, that’s brilliant. That’s made it even better. Oh, wow,’ the emotional teenager added.
Adolescence took home eight gongs on Sunday night, with the tally also including a Best Supporting Actress award for Erin Doherty, while director Philip Barantini won his category. The show also had two in the bank from pre-show hand-outs for cinematography and casting.
Owen proved himself to be well in with the movers and shakers of Hollywood as he partied up a storm at the streaming giant’s Emmys after-party – ahead of his return to school in Warrington on Wednesday.
Adolescence has averaged around 45 million views per month and become a must-watch for parents and teenagers around the world.
The series, which centres around schoolboy Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), follows his story when he is accused of murdering a female classmate after seeing extreme and misogynistic content online.
Accepting his award Owen said: ‘Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be even in the United States, never mind here.
‘It may have my name on this award, but it really belongs to the people behind the camera and Stephen and all the cast’.
He added: ‘I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life’.

Owen was given a week off school by his headteacher, but admitted last night it was on the proviso that he did homework while he was in LA, especially maths. His parents Andy and Noreen joined him in LA with his two brothers.
‘I was nothing about three years ago. I’m here now. If you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone a little bit, who cares if you get embarrassed a little bit?’
He triumphed over Javier Bardem (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Rob Delaney (Dying for Sex), Peter Sarsgaard (Presumed Innocent), Bill Camp (Presumed Innocent) and his Adolescence co-star Ashley Walters.
