Brian Cox showed film fans he’s a true Scotsman — after he accidentally flashed his privates while on stage.
The Succession actor, 79, was wearing a black tartan kilt for an interview about his new flick when he was told his manhood was on display.
Amid laughter from the audience, he brought his knees together. Only to expose his todger again minutes later.
The incidents came at Toronto Film Festival after the world premiere of Glenrothan — his directorial debut about a family-run whisky distillery.
Cox laughed off the wardrobe malfunction and explained to the punters in Canada why he’d not worn underpants.
The Dundee-born Bob Servant star, left, joked: “Whose idea was it to wear these f*****g kilts?
“Certainly not my idea.
“It was the producer’s idea. They can be so vengeful.
“But you have to wear the kilt the proper way.
“Is it that bad?
“The kilt is designed to make you cool and free.
“And it’s a f*****g wonderful freedom.”
Cox told how, ironically, he had just seen the episode of classic US sitcom Friends in which Phoebe’s boyfriend goes commando in baggy sportswear.
He explained: “It’s so funny because I was bored yesterday and I was watching an old episode of Friends.
“It was about a guy who kept showing himself as he’s wearing these shorts.
“I thought, ‘Oh God, I hope that doesn’t happen to me tomorrow when I’m wearing the kilt’.”
