WITH 100 days until Christmas, help cover the costs with a supermarket saving scheme.
The schemes are a good way to save throughout the year, but you can also get a boost by adding money at the last minute.
Here’s what’s on offer from the biggest players . . .
SAINSBURY’S: Ask for a Christmas Club Card which you can load cash on at checkouts or self-service tills.
You will get £2.50 for every £50 placed on the card, up to the first £500.
Load the card by midnight on November 1. It can be used in store at Sainsbury’s, on the website or at argos.co.uk.

TESCO: Opt in to the Christmas Saver Scheme via your Clubcard and then top up digitally or in store.
Tesco bonuses start at £1.50 when you’ve saved £25 to £49.50, rising to a £12 bonus for saving £200 or more.
The deadline for saving is midnight on October 16. You get the bonus vouchers, valid for three months, in your November Clubcard statement.
ASDA: Register online then set up regular top-ups from your bank or add money in store. The bonuses start at £1 when you save £30, up to £15 if you save £280 by November 9.
Separately, you can build up a Christmas Saver Cashpot using the Asda Rewards app, earning money by buying star products or by completing Asda Rewards missions.
MORRISONS: If you are a More card holder, sign up to Christmas Savers and add money via £1 “digital stamps” at the checkout.
Your bonus depends on how much you have saved by the cut-off on October 31, starting with a £1 bonus once you’ve saved £49, going up to a £6 bonus with £197 in savings.
ICELAND: Year round, for every £20 added to an Iceland Bonus card, shoppers get £1 extra.
New or existing Bonus Club members, who top up £100 or more by October 28, get a free £15 bonus to spend in the month up to Christmas.
