POLL OF THE DAY: Will Keir Starmer last as Prime Minister beyond next May?

  • Cast your vote on the biggest talking points of the day, every day at 12pm

Sir Keir Starmer entered Downing Street with a huge majority when he became the UK’s first Labour prime minister since 2010.

But just over a year after he promised to build a ‘government of service’, Labour MPs are already openly warning that Sir Keir could be gone within months.

Some in the party believe their leader only has months to turn things around, as he faces questions today over the sacking of Lord Mandelson as US ambassador.

The elections in May next year have been identified as a make-or-break moment for Sir Keir, with fears Nigel Farage‘s Reform could see another major surge.

For Labour to remove their leader, at least 80 MPs would have to nominate a potential replacement, before a card vote is held at the annual conference on whether there should be a full membership election.

Now you can have your say on whether you think Sir Keir will be gone by next May, in the Mail’s latest poll:
