SHOPPERS are rushing to get their hands on festive McVitie’s digestive biscuits that have made a return to stores.
Eagle-eyed shoppers could not believe their luck when they spotted a brand new milk chocolate gingerbread flavour of the iconic snack.
The delight was spotted at Sainsbury’s, scanning for £2.25 or £1.50 if you have a Nectar card.
It is a limited edition flavour, which is rolled out around the festive period by the biscuit maker.
The treat has gotten rave reviews from shoppers, with one revealing they “demolished half the pack in one sitting with a cup of tea”.
While another customer said: “Same lovely taste of McVitie’s chocolate digestives with only a subtle hint of ginger taste.
“Not overpowering at all. Packaging is fun and exciting.”
And a third said: “Absolutely amazing for Christmas time, one of my favourite new biscuits now.
“They taste incredible, with the usual perfect McVitie’s texture.”
If you are keen to shop the product you can do so in your nearest Sainsbury’s or through its website.

Ocado is also selling the product for £1.85.
It’s one of a number of new products that has landed in supermarket shelves in recent weeks.
Shoppers went wild for new white chocolate Tim Tams, that were spotted on the grocers shelves.
The tasty treat comes in many flavours, including chocolate and caramel.
But Sainsbury’s supermarket is the first UK store to stock the white chocolate version of the snack.
More festive treats
Despite it only being the start of the autumn season, many retailers are already rolling out their Christmas stock.
B&Q is selling a bargain £3 Christmas tree at the DIY store.
The tree is just 1ft tall, making it perfect for those looking to brighten up their work desk or bedroom.
Shoppers have left glowing reviews of the tiny artificial decoration, with one describing it as the “perfect table top Christmas tree”.
Elsewhere, M&S is rolling out its Christmas range, including the return of its much-loved tins.
The tins are full of a mix of milk chocolate peanut butter cups, fruit flavoured jellies, salted pretzels, milk chocolate coated popcorn, salted caramel white chocolate coated peanuts and white chocolate malt balls.
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
