JoJo Siwa makes romantic ‘wifey’ move on Chris Hughes – and it speaks volumes about their future

WHEN you start a new relationship there are plenty of ways to show your love for your new partner – flowers, chocolates or romantic meals – but JoJo Siwa has made an unusual move to show boyfriend Chris Hughes how she feels about him – and it speaks volumes about their future together.

The 32-year-old Love Island star turned racing commentator and the 22-year-old singer have been dating for four months after meeting earlier this year on Celebrity Big Brother.

With Chris based in Ascot, Windsor and Nebraskan born JoJo living in California, the pair are conducting a transatlantic long distance relationship.

And although they are not living together…yet, JoJo has shown her wifey qualities by spending a whole day cleaning his home for him.

JoJo told me: “The most romantic thing I’ve ever done for Chris was that I sent him out of his house for six hours and I deep cleaned and organised the entire place.

“I scrubbed inside the cabinets and then I organised his clothes. I got loads of candles with little flowers in them that looked really pretty and put them all around.

“Then I got flowers to make it nice. That was a good thing to do.”

She was keen to emphasise that Chris isn’t a typical messy boy.

“He was saying for ages he wanted to properly clean it. And I said, ‘Honestly babe, let me do it’. Also for me, I’m in his space when I’m here in the UK.

“He does a very good job at opening his home to me and welcoming me. But I’m still in his space. I felt like sorting and cleaning gave me a little sense of purpose.

“I wouldn’t say I’ve taken ownership of being here but I felt like, ‘Well, if I put away all his bowls then I can also take one out and have a bowl of cereal’. It created a sense of home by taking care of the place for him.”

Chris added: “I was really busy and was out sorting stuff out and she cleaned everything up for me.

“It was such a lovely surprise. She wanted to help and make my living environment a nicer place.

“I love the way she cares about me. It feels so special. It’s effortless for her to be like that and I love that about her.”

And Chris repaid the favour with romantic gestures of his own.

The Coral ambassador is set to appear on Celebrity MasterChef later this year and has been practicing his dishes on his girlfriend.

JoJo added: “He’s always doing nice things. There are all these small gestures that really add up like he always cooks for me. That’s my favourite. I love it when he does that.

“And he writes me love letters. He wrote me the sweetest letter the other day.

“I was leaving to go back to the States so he gave me it to read when I got home and I missed him. But I got impatient and I opened it early and I wanted to read it right away. It was a really cute one.”

Speaking about living over five-and-a-half thousand miles apart, JoJo said: “We haven’t ever spoken about the difficulties of it. We just make it work.

‘Very lucky’

“We can make our own work schedules, so we do what we need to do to be together. Obviously, it’s hard, but we do pretty good.

“All my relationships except one have been long distance. But the thing that’s different about Christopher is I feel we were practically designed to be together. Any time we come back together, it feels like we’ve never been apart.

“The longest we’ve gone is two weeks without one another. The time zones are brutal.

“Eight hours difference means half the day is gone, but any time we need each other, we are always there on the other end of the phone. We’re in a great place. We’re very lucky.”

And thankfully the pair won’t have to be writing letters to each other as JoJo will be based over here as she kicks off her Infinity Heart Tour in Dublin at the end of the month and of course Chris will be there cheering her on.

“I’m excited,” she said. “I haven’t been on tour in a very long time. It’s finally happening. I’m coming up with ways to make it special and unique.

“There will be new music and songs from my childhood, and loads of dancing. I do all the choreography myself and my mom is making the costumes.”
