EMMERDALE’S Lisa Riley has revealed a huge twist, the likes of which have never been seen before, that will play out later this year.
Lisa’s on-screen father-in-law Bear has been missing from the soap for two months after experiencing a series of concerning mood swings and angry outbursts.
One such episode came after his son Paddy was savagely attacked by a dog and he scathingly told him he needed to man up.
It made Paddy contemplate killing the dog to make the village safe and drove a wedge between the father and son that resulted in Paddy throwing Bear out of the house.
Bear packed his car up and lied about having a friend who had a bed he could use for as long as he wanted.
His absence has left fans wondering what has become of him and whether or not his anger issues were due to a mystery illness.
At last night’s National Television Awards, Lisa teased that when he eventually returns it will be a landmark moment for British soaps.
She said: “Where’s Bear? Where is he? Where has he gone?”
When asked if she knew where, she responded: “Yeah, because I’ve read the scripts that are coming up for Christmas.
“Where does that take us? Where’s my father-in-law? My father-in-law is somewhere. I’m not going to tell you where he is.
“But I can promise you a lot of drama where he is. And it’s going to be a big storyline on the horizon. That’s like Laura, our producer. That’s her baby.
“I can’t even give you any clue, because you won’t actually get it. I told my other half, Alan, he was like, that’s never been done. That’s never been done before. That’s the truth. It’s not been done in a drama.”
