Delighted Jeremy Clarkson wins NTA award for his series Clarkson’s Farm as he praises British farmers in speech

JEREMY Clarkson was elated to win a National Television Award for his series Clarkson’s Farm — and even turned up to the bash to collect it.

The Sun columnist landed Best Factual Entertainment for the Prime Video favourite.

The show follows the team, including farm hand Kaleb Cooper and agent Charlie Ireland, on Diddly Squat Farm and at The Farmer’s Dog pub in the Cotswolds.

And Jeremy made a rare appearance at the event to pick up the prestigious award.

Alongside partner Lisa Hogan and show star Harriet Cowan, Jeremy said: “Farming is a difficult job and I appreciate the way people are going, ‘I didn’t know where my sausages came from’.

“You don’t love farming, you love moments of it — it is really tricky right now.

“Farmers work so hard for no money so it’s delightful that people recognise a farming show can beat a house cleaning show. We shall go and have a drink.”

Walking the red carpet, Kaleb played down the idea he would ever own a farm.

He said: “I live in the Cotswolds and it’s just expensive.

“But, hopefully, one day I’ll get my own farm. I just need time. We’ve completed filming on the next series but the farm work never stops.”

Last year, Kaleb was nominated as the best expert but lost to Sir David Attenborough.

Clarkson’s Farm has been a monster success for Prime and the finishing touches are now being put on series five.

The programme beat Sort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon, Gogglebox on C4 and ITV’s The Martin Lewis Money Show Live.

It is the first major award for Clarkson’s Farm but Jeremy’s second NTA.

He received the Special Recognition Award for Top Gear in 2007.
