Classically trained violinist turned dance-floor DJ reveals debut tune – The Sun

BROOKLYN based artist Kozlow has blurred the underground lines between artistry, curation and community in the Big Apple.

A classically trained electric violinist turned dance-floor architect, he has taken his ANTHR FCKNG PARTY (AFP) brand from a word-of-mouth monthly series into one of New York’s most talked about underground cultural experiences and now, into a record label that’s amplifying its ethos on a global scale.

Having played alongside heavyweights including Carl Cox at Burning Man, Cedric Gervais and Alesso with his trademark electric violin, he’s even soundtracked a Kevin Hart party, while also stepping up to support the likes of Diplo and John Summit on the decks.

Known for AFP’s no-lineup, no-phones policy, Kozlow has built a movement rooted in raw energy, spontaneity and connection.

That same instinct flows through his debut AFP label release, “Untitled,” a stripped-back tech-house cut designed for late-night floors.

To celebrate the release of the new single and label today, Kozlow has pulled together ten tracks that embody the AFP spirit, selections that range from timeless underground gems to fresh finds that are shaking his dance floors right now.

Listen to his selections below and read what he had to say about the music.

Nyra, Noface – Sisco Visco

I’ve loved this track for a while. I think that it’s always cool to hear on a good sound system and it really gets the party going.

Spaghetti Circus – Still Going

This is a real fun one, great energy, cool vibe, awesome percussion. It’s an old track but a favourite of mine for a long time.

Gustavo Cerati – Casa

This is one of those special ones that when it comes out at the right time, just hits different. First heard this one at a Jigit sunset on vinyl and every time I’ve heard it since then, it captures that energy – mysterious, exciting, funky, cool.

Moontalk – Lovergirl

I’m obsessed with Moontalk. I think these guys are fucking incredible. They’re producers from Sweden, and everything they make is an absolute killer on the dance floor.

ForgiveMeTommy! – Deepn Breath ft. La Zingara)

ForgiveMeTommy is an incredible group from Montreal. I’m sorry, Tommy! Enough said!

Joe Vanditti – Clean Up

This is a newer one that I found recently that’s exciting. It’s got cool percussion and great groove and energy.

Novodisc – Never Knew

Something about the bass in this song reminds me of an older time in the club scene, but the percussion is really fun and exciting. I think it’s got a cool feel on a dance floor.

Caleb Jackson – Alakezam

Caleb Jackson has a really interesting vibe and energy, and I’ve been digging through his discography lately. It’s really exciting and fresh.

Fango – Primevera

Pretty much everything that Fango has released is exciting to me, and this one (although older), I just can’t stop listening to. Check it out!

Kozlow – Untitled

My first Kozlow release on my label ANTHR FCKNG PARTY. Enjoy!
