Channel 4 viewers watched as the latest batch of amateur bakers tackled Biscuit Week.

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith have returned as judges, with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond back on presenting duties.

However, despite this stellar line-up of judges and presenters, fans were still left fuming – this time it was about the number of adverts.

This has been a common complaint amongst viewers – but last night fans thought Channel 4 really took the biscuit.

Taking to social media to vent, one said: “Is it me 5mins of the show then 10mins of advert.”

Another added: ” What’s with all the ads? I’m sure it’s worse than other years.”

This one chimed in: “More ads than content!”

Some fans even said this series was the “worst ever” in Bake Off history.

It comes after host Alison suffered an awkward editing blunder last week.

It came as Ukraine contestant Natalia was talking about the war in her country.

Cast revealed as powerlifter, two hairdressers and a drag king

But as she started to pour her heart out, Alison shouted: “Bomb, bomb, bomb. Ladies and gentlemen, you are halfway through.”

This was not done on purpose by Alison, but was just a bad editing gaffe made by the show.

Meanwhile, back to last night, and Leighton, 59, became the second contestant to be eliminated from the new series of Bake Off.

The software delivery manager from Surrey lost his place during a tough Biscuit Week.

Leighton said he felt “fortunate” to have been chosen to take part, but was obviously sad to be leaving so soon.

“I would really like to have gone longer without a doubt, but you know, it is what it is,” he told BBC Radio Surrey today.

During the episode the contestants were tasked with making making Hobnobs, for the Technical Challenge.

However, this didn’t work out too well for poor Leighton.

“I never want to see a Hobnob again in my life,” he said.

“I will never look one in the eye again with the same respect.

“But I would love to do it all again, without a doubt.”

Leighton also made orange biscuits with an intricate design and chocolate ganache, but it wasn’t enough to save him from the chop.

Teasing the rest of the series, he said: “I can tell you now, this series is full of exciting turns.

“There’s some fun along the way, without a doubt.”

Bake Off continues next Tuesday on Channel 4 at 8pm
