Horse racing tips: ‘He’s a class above his rivals’ – Templegate’s Cork NAP with British racing on strike

RACING is cancelled in Britain on Wednesday as the sport goes on strike over proposed tax rises.

But there is a single meeting at Cork in Ireland for punters to get stuck into.

Templegate delivers his tips below – back a horse simply by clicking their odds.

Our man will be back in plenty of time for day one of Doncaster’s St Leger festival on Thursday with his day one tips.

YAXCHILAN (6.10 Cork, nap)

Shane Foley takes the ride on this four-year-old who has slipped back to just 2lb above his latest win at Fairyhouse three starts ago. This seven furlong test should suit ideally, especially with the likely strong pace playing to his finishing kick. He has no issues with some cut in the ground and looks solid in this lowly company.

HELLORHIGHWATER (6.40 Cork, nb)

You always pay attention when Gavin Cromwell runs one on the Flat and this three-year-old has gone close on both runs so far. He was second at Killarney latest with a good gap to the third and comes from a top-class family.

JOSH’S JOY (5.40 Cork, treble)

She has shown promise on both starts for Donnacha O’Brien, with a debut third at Leopardstown followed by a neck second there 20 days ago. She doesn’t need a lot more to get off the mark.

CHARLES FORT (4.40 Cork, Lucky 15)

He has been in the picture on all three starts for Aidan O’Brien and should enjoy this drop back to six furlongs. His Curragh third last month looks decent form.
