The Thunberg Hoax Is Part of a Pattern – HotAir

It’s always lies and hoaxes. You simply cannot believe anything said by leftists.

“The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) confirms that one of the main boats, known as the ‘Family Boat’ – that was carrying GSF Steering Committee members, was struck by what is suspected to be a drone.”

Yasemin Acar, one of the activists travelling with Thunberg posted a video saying “The Family boat has been officially attacked a drone came right above it, released a bomb and it exploded and the boat was on fire.”

The activist added:

“They have bombed a boat with civilians on it in Tunisian territory. This is an attack against Gaza because they don’t want us there. So we need you to mobilize. Let’s not staying quiet.”

She also blamed a “Zionist entity” for the attack, despite not having any information of who was operating the drone.

Ironically, the hoax was revealed–accidentally–by the flotilla activists themselves. They are documenting their trip, because of course they are, on social media through, among other things, webcams placed all over the boats.

Apparently, somebody set off a flare, and in a rare example of karma actually punishing evildoers, the flare came back down on the boat and started a fire.

The original video, taken from a different ship, showed a ball of flame falling down onto the boat, and the activists tried to sell this as proof that a drone struck them. A magical, never-before-used flare drone, I suppose. This contradicted the speculation from Tunisian officials that a cigarette started the fire; they speculated that because there was no drone activity in the area.

But as more videos came out, the origin of the flaming projectile became clear: a flare had been fired for some reason–probably sheer incompetence–and it came back down onto the ship.

I am not certain whether the whole thing was staged or whether the lies were meant to cover up a bonehead move or were a convenient excuse to slander Israel.

Whatever the case, they are slandering Israel, and many in Pravda dutifully reported the falsehood.

It really doesn’t matter. No serious person would have believed that this was a drone strike for several reasons, not the least of which is that the flotilla is as politically or militarily relevant as a gnat landing on one’s arm. Mildly annoying, but it doesn’t even have a sting. Israel has far more important things to do with its time and money, like killing Hamasniks in Doha.

Drone strikes don’t look like that, and they surely don’t leave the boats floating or only harm an innocent lifejacket.

The narcissism–thinking that they matter so much that any military, no less Israel’s, would waste time striking out at them, is amazing.

How Dare They?
