A mother allegedly left her disabled daughter to die in a feces-covered room inside a disgusting house of horrors.
Liza Lindsay, 41, of Richmond, Indiana, was arrested after her 19-year-old daughter, Caleigh Lindsay, was found inside a feces-covered, padded room inside her home on South 10th Street on July 24.
The teen was found with a partially-attached diaper on and surrounded by 12 dirty ones inside a room that resembled a stall with four feet padding, Fox 59 reported.
The ‘stall’ door had a hole in. The walls, which appeared to be covered in feces, also had holes in it, where Lindsay claimed her daughter had hit her head during seizures.
Lindsay, who allowed police into her decrepit home, told police Caleigh suffered from microcephalic and mitochondrial diseases, Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, was autistic, epileptic, and was wheelchair-bound.
Caleigh was also nonverbal and had reportedly been living off a feeding tube since she was 10 years old.
The mother – who had other children living in the home – said the last time she saw Caleigh alive was around 10:45pm the night before when she went into her room to change her diaper and give her medication and fluids.
The girl reportedly suffered a seizure that lasted a minute. After the episode, Lindsay claimed she lay Caleigh on her side and left to go to bed around 11:15pm.

Her boyfriend, Darryl Grubbs found the teen dead the next morning, lying on her back and with her feet curled like she had a seizure, the outlet reported.
An autopsy report found she died from a possible seizure due to her Pitt-Hopkins syndrome.
An acquaintance told investigators they had not seen Caleigh in at least six months and that Grubbs had been violent toward Lindsay and her children, the outlet reported.
A relative also told investigators they had not seen the disabled woman in at least a year, but that the other children appeared to be bathed and properly fed.
When police arrived at the home, they found the house in a deplorable state with a strong odor of cat urine, feces, and garbage.
There were rooms and bathtubs that had piles of trash, fly strips hanging from the ceiling, and one of her children sleeping on a couch.
Lindsay blamed her depression for the state of the home, telling her authorities she had been taken off her medication in January, the outlet reported. Authorities, however, did not see evidence in her medical files that suggested her medication had changed.
Police also did not find fresh food in the home, only black mold in the fridge. One of the surviving children told police the last meal they had eaten was a ‘hot sauce sandwich’ and they could not recall when that meal occurred.

The health department also found that the ammonia levels were five times higher than normal in the home.
Lindsay and Grubbs were charged with preliminary counts of neglect of a dependent.
The family remembered the teen for her love of K-pop, cartoons, and playing with her brother, her obituary read.
‘She loved snuggling with her mother, grandmother, brothers, and stepfather. She was everybody’s sunshine,’ it read.
