PRINCE Harry is returning to where he began royal working life with Meghan eight years ago — amid claims he wants to bring his family back to Britain.
The Duke of Sussex arrives in the UK today, not knowing if he is invited to see the King.
The father and son have not seen each other in 19 months.
California-based Harry, who quit royal life with Meghan five years ago, will tomorrow visit Nottingham, where crowds waited for hours to see them in 2017, just weeks after they announced their engagement.
She is still in California with their two children.
But the Duke’s appearance in the city — to announce a personal donation to Children in Need — comes after one of his pals told The Sunday Times: “He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK.”
This is despite Harry telling the BBC four months ago: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
Royal expert Phil Dampier said of the visit: “It brings back memories of happier times when we thought they were going to be royal superstars.
“It will be fascinating to see how he is received and comes into contact with the public.”
Harry does not know if he will meet the King, who is at Balmoral, or attend the Duchess of Kent’s funeral next week.
