A swimmer has been killed by a shark at a beach in Sydney‘s Northern Beaches.
First responders and emergency workers were seen on Dee Why beach about just after 9am on Saturday.
A male was brought to shore by members of the public after the shark mauled his legs.
Surf Lifesavers advised Dee Why Beach was closed until further notice soon after the shark incident.
The typically-busy beach was empty as a marine safety vessel scoured the waters where, normally, dozens of surfers wait for waves.
