Wayne Rooney reveals David and Victoria Beckham invited him and Coleen for dinner at their house and served them KEBABS as he reveals why his wife made him ‘FURIOUS’

Wayne Rooney has revealed David and Victoria Beckham invited him and Coleen over dinner and they all ate kebabs.

Victoria is well known for simply eating fish and salad every day, a trait which irks her cooking loving husband David.

And speaking on The Wayne Rooney show podcast for the BBC, Wayne said: ‘I remember years ago we got invited to Becks’ for dinner.

‘It was me, Lamps [Frank Lampard] and couple more players. We went to his house, me and Coleen, we were only 19 or something.

‘We were like “this is weird, what’s happening here”?’ Had a walk around and he’s showing us round his house and then I open a door and his eldest boy, [Brooklyn] I bumped his head and he started crying I thought “oh Jesus Christ”.

‘Opened the door and bumped his head. But yeah that was surreal and we sat there with Becks and Victoria having dinner, it was like…’

Broadcaster Kelly Cates asked him: ‘What was dinner? Was it posh?’

Wayne replied: ‘No. We met up with Becks and Victoria, me and Coleen, when he was at Madrid and went for dinner then and we were having kebabs.

‘He’s obviously a great lad and Victoria’s such a lovely woman and they’re funny. A lot funnier than people would think.’

Wayne also touched upon how his wife Coleen painted his toenails before his first England squad while he was asleep.

He said: ‘I remember the night before we were meeting up, I was in Coleen’s mum and dad’s house…and I fell asleep on the couch the night before, and Coleen painted me toenails while I was asleep, and I had no idea!

‘And it was like a, I don’t know what colour it was, like a see-through glossy type thing, I don’t know what it was.

‘Yeah, so I couldn’t see it, but if you really look close, obviously you could see it. So she’d done that. So, I got to England and then you get on with the physios and massages and stuff.

‘And I went to one of the masseurs and, he said, “Have you painted your toenails? I didn’t have you down for… “what it is. I was like, “No!”

‘They had to look at my toenails and paint. I was raging, I was fuming then. And then we went out for the first training session and they took my boots from me.

‘I looked at my boots, my boots were size 11, they were Steve Watson’s boots, so I took the wrong boots! So the whole first couple of days there was just a nightmare really.

‘I went out, I wore them, didn’t tell anyone, I wore them. I put three pairs of socks on, wore the boots and I was okay and I got more boots sent.’

Elsewhere in the podcast, Wayne also revealed that Coleen would pick out his clothing and confessed he is now ‘fuming’ he has to do his own ironing.

When he was asked if he took advantage of Coleen’s keen eye for fashion, he said that Coleen would lay his washed clothes out on the bed for him every day.

He said: ‘Before we had kids, Coleen used to leave me clothes out the night before. So, every day, yeah, before we had kids, it doesn’t… She’d put my clothes out, ironed and ready for me to put on the next morning.

‘I know and then now I’ve got to get up and get my own clothes I’m fuming. No, but yeah, she… Obviously now with kids…

To which Kelly responded: ‘Every day? I need someone to do that for me. Shouldn’t have had four kids really, should you? Because she’d probably still be doing it now.’

Wayne confirmed: ‘She does it obviously now with the kids. She does it for all the kids now the night before and stuff. Yeah.
