LEGO is more popular than ever with both children and adults spending hours creating miniature worlds.
The branded building blocks don’t come cheap, but you can get them for less cash.
Try these tips.
BE AN INSIDER: Sign up to Lego’s free Insiders Club and get loyalty points when you buy or register sets.
You’ll then be offered special discounts and codes on Lego, as well as free gifts when buying selected sets, and early access to limited-edition sets.

MONEY BACK: If you buy from Lego’s website, make sure you are signed up for cashback.
TopCashback currently offers members up to 8.5 per cent on online purchases through the retailer.
You can also get money back through Lego stockists including The Entertainer and Hamleys.
PRE-OWNED: You can always buy and sell second-hand Lego online through webuybricks.co.uk.
The site sells a 700-piece set that includes at least two mini figures for £19.99 — this compares to £44.99 for a new Lego creative brick box.
FREEBIES: Sign kids up for a free Lego magazine through the website.
Designed for children aged five to nine years old, the mag is delivered four times a year and features cartoon stories, as well as ideas on what to build and posters.
The Entertainer toy store occasionally offers free sets or “make and take” Lego events.
See its website for details — thetoyshop.com/store-events.
SUPER DUPE: You don’t have to buy Lego to play brick building. Wilko stocks a range of blocks that are compatible with the well-known brand so you can interlock bricks between the two ranges.
And Wilko’s versions are far more affordable.
For example, The Imaginate city police headquarters blocks set is £14.99 from the chain, whereas a similar set from Lego will set you back a hefty £59.99.
